Vegetarian Frozen food???

Quote  |  Reply

Hello y'all!!

I became vegetarrian for almost two months ago.. I have been trying to be one for two years. I am a senior at college and its time consuming to cook, so I tend to eat low-calorie frozen meals.. I have been eating the same ones for such a long time..  Does anyone recommend a delicious low-calorie frozen meal?? I really need ur help!

Amy's brand has some good options. I have one every now and then, but generally I like to make fresh food and just reheat it myself.

I agree with cooking4 carnivores.  Amy's has a lot of different choices.  BUt I too do not eat meat and it takes no time to microwave frozen veggies, keep apples and whatnot around or just heat up a veggie burger.

I really like the new Healthy Choice All Natural meals.  Do read the ingredients lists on the back because the portabella mushroom dinners look vegetarian but are in fact not.  I also really like Smart Ones or Lean Cuisine fettucini alfredo.  I usually use all of these meals as sort of a base and then add lots of veggies to them to make them a little more substantial portion wise.  My favorites are to put them over mixed greens or to add broccoli or other frozen vegetables when I cook them.  It's really tough to find frozen meals that are a good source of protein, so I usually try to add some kind of frozen protein to them too from time to time.  I like the morningstar chik patties and the Quorn chicken tenders the best.

Kashi makes amazingly delicious and very healthy vegetarian frozen entrees.

I highly recommend the Mayan Harvest Bake. It tastes SO GOOD and is good for you.

The Kashi Mayan Harvest Bake is really good. And if you're looking to splurge calorie-wise, the kashi pizzas are to die for... especially the mecicali black bean. The Healthy Choice pumpkin ravioli meal is amazing (and the only way that I will EVER eat asparagus).

Now, if you're not looking to have everything all come from one handy container, I'd suggest getting some quorn naked chick'n cutlets and some steamfresh veggies. Both microwaveable.

Great!! thank you everyone.. I will def. try them.. because I started getting bored of the meals I eat, and I think my body needs something different for it to contunie to lose weight.. now I cant wait to go grocey shopping :)

I really like making my own frozen burritos.  I'm a grad student, so I get the whole time crunch thing, but I can make 12 of them in about 30 minutes.  I try to make them a little different every time I make them so they don't get boring.
