I'm curious if anyone else here experiences the type of migraines I do. First off they are called migraines but there is no actual headache involved. Just pure dizziness you have no sense of up down right/left you feel like you are constantly shifting, then spells will come on.. that will be 30 seconds of intense dizziness you can feel it shooting through your body till it reaches your stomach and it turns, there's usually a lot of vomiting involved, light is impossible to be around, and sometimes smells... Most IV meds they give me at the hospital do not work.. I've seen neurologist. I've had eye exams, MRA's, MRI'S, and my ears check.. I Was born with this problem and usually get 3-4 a year. Imitrex, motion sickness pills, compazine, promenthazine, steroids,.. do not work. The only help they can really give me at the hospital is IV to stop the dehydration and Zofran. I eventually have a panic attack and break down because by the time the third day of having this happens I start feeling neurotic and fearful that the dizziness will never go away. I'm not really looking for ways to solve it.. I just want to know if there's others who suffer from these types of Migraines.
Yes, I do. It doesn't sound as intense as yours.. or rather at least, I'm so used to it because I've had two types of migraines the vertigo type and a regular sort since I was 2 years old so I don't experience the panic attacks. I do however experience the dizziness, the vomiting (which is often the only relief at all I receive from the migraine and I feel crazy for wanting to vomit). I've been in the hospital many times because of the dehydration and even a couple of times because my migraines would simply not go away. I certainly understand your pain. I'm actually kind of relieved to find someone else who understands as well.
