I have been VERY bad! HELP!

Quote  |  Reply

Ok i should be eating around 1200-1300 a day to lose weight. Last i weighed (june 27th) i was 113.5 or 114 and had been doing well. Well, I left town the night of the 27th, i'm in Atlanta until the 11th for work. I have been eating probably around 2000 a day since saturday the 28th! I don't know why, i am trying to stop. Anyway i am 5'1.5" and trying to get down to about 105ish. How much weight do you think i have gained from these 2000 calories days? Like a week straight of at least 2000 when i should only be eating 1200? I have no access to a scale and am extra worried. Thanks, guys!

I am 5'1.5" and I lost 30 lbs in 2007 (going from 130-135 lbs to 100-105lbs) eating 4 days a week 1200 cals and 3 days a week 2000 cals, averaging to 1500 cals. You should not gain much because of a few "higher cal" days and if you do it's probably just some water weight, food weight. Don't worry about it, just get back into your routine when you get home. It might even give your metabolism a nice little boost so when you go back to 1200-1500 cal days you pop back down!!

Thanks!  That makes me feel a little better.  I'll try to do ok the rest of the time i am here...

and

bump, people!  more answers?

im in the same boat as you im also 5"1.5t and 112 right now trying to get back down to 105 or maybe 98 again when i felt good. 2000 calories is'nt enough to gain weight on for me it takes at least 3000(from experience) and because we r the same i dont think you would have gained anythink on 2000 maybe you would have just maintained your weight as 2000 is a normal healthy intake everyday for woman.

Don't be so hard on your self. You have done a marvelous job.  I doubt that you have put on weight, as others have said, I think you have maintained it.

Good luck!

If the clothes that you brought for your trip are tighter than they normally are, you have more than likely gained a small bit.  Just lay off the the extras that you normally don't indulge in at home for the rest of the time you are away.

I try to stay away from scales and trust my clothes.  They are the truest indicator as long as I don't shrink them (or tell myself I didEmbarassed)!

You've gotten good comments. Keep in mind that when you get home, the scale may show a gain--but that's because you will probably have more water weight, etc., especially if you flew and/or have trouble keeping to your usual foods. In other words, don't freak out. I showed a gain of 7 lbs after a 4 day weekend and it was back down within 2-3 days of resuming my usual water intake and non-processed food regime.

good luck.

You're not going to gain on 2000 calories a day unless you are burning less than 2000 calories a day.  Do you know about your deficit? Your bmr/rmr?  You may not lose, but you wont gain.
