What are some Very VERY VERY Low Calorie Snacks???
kellydepinhoq--
I love gerber food! have you tried their fruit strips or cereal bars?? perfect size for a snack if you ask me. and I am in love with their puffs too! delish
i used to make meringue to lose weight. it takes five minutes:
-beat two egg whites until they are super stiff (the longer you beat them, the bigger they get, therefore the more you can eat for the same calories)
-mix in two splendas and about a teaspoon of vanilla
-spoon into muffin tins or a small cake pan (easily makes a whole tray of muffins)
-bake at 500 degrees for 2-3 minutes
30 calories for the whole batch. awesome?
(now i use a modified version to gain weight. a thin layer of cake with a scoop of ice cream in each muffin tin, then the meringue on top and chocolate syrup drizzled over the top when it's out of the oven. lol, sorry!)
Get light tofu, 200 calories for the whole container, and dry- fry it (no oil, cook in a pan on low heat untill it browns), and then use a low-cal marinade, I use something along the lines of 100 cal of BBQ sauce, some soy sauce, some vinegar, some hot sauce, which comes out to roughly 300 calories total, and it makes a ton of tofu.
Have some now and save the rest for a later snack - great crispy/salty snack that will really fill you up. More of a meal than a snack really, but can be a snack if you only eat a little. Light tofu has one of the best quantity vs calories of any food, and I just love it. I'm definately a "quantity over quality" person, I need lots of food to fill me up, and Light tofu is a great way to do it without the calories.
Some great suggestions here, I'm going to have to try a celery + sourkraut combination that is essentially zero calories. I like them both, I hope they are good together!!
this thread is greattt... sometimes i really just want to eat for the sake of eating lol :)
lettuce/celery/cucumber/sliced bell peppers + salsa (dip)
microwave fresh bean sprouts (about 30cals/100g) + bbq sauce (or salsa/soy sauce/tomato sauce/hot sauce... freaking delicious, satisfying crunch, and you can eat a huge bowl with just a bit of dressing)
kale chips! definitely... love baking em with cajun spices
that's all i can think of right now...

Sometimes I just want to eat something. I am sick of baby carrots. Is there anything I can eat as a snack and not worry about the calories. I just want to chew something, and I am not a fan of gum, it makes me very hungry. So please please please suggest something I can just snack on without too much counting involved :)
Marinated Mushrooms...the brand I like is Monterey and they are sold in the pickle section (non-refridgerated section) of the grocery store.
At only 9 calories per serving, they are very low calorie...even if you were to binge on the entire (large) jar, you would only be consuming 180 calories.
I make a salad with them:
- Baby Spinach Leaves
- A Super-Large, Very Ripe Tomato
- Mushrooms
There is no need to add dressing for flavor. The spinach is good for helping your skin and hair while dieting (especially) and the tomato acids and vinegar help your body absorb the nutrients from the spinach. Spinach is a SuperFood and has sooooo many health benefits...one of which is beautifying your skin's appearance.
This salad is very healthy and extremely low in calories. It's one binge food that you can feel good about over eating. :)
I like eating a large dill pickle! Most are about 5 calories and they tend to be pretty filling.
Dandy, all of your snacks sound amazing. I just copied them all :)

i've really been wanting to have some pancakes. they're my fav food, and i know you can but whole wheat mix now, but i wouldn't like them without the sweetness of syrup. HELP!
replies would be awesome, i know it's been awhile since the last post :)
I used to make some pancakes and then eat them with applesauce or peanut butter on top (or both! yummm!). I am definitely going to have to do that again, cause it's so yummy and you can definitely "grab and go" if you're as busy as me!
Another similar snack I like is a piece of toasted whole wheat bread with peanut butter and a pear half on top. yumyumyum!
Basically a carb + peanut butter + fruit = best breakfast/snack ever. :)
Things I love.....
Puffed!!!
Puffed rice
Puffed Wheat
Puffed Corn
Puffed Kamut.
I like to mix them wiith some cinnamin and zereo calorie sweetener :))
Theyre all 50 calories a cup!!
