I am very tall and heavy. How many calories should I have?

I'm 6'5", 482 pounds, male aged 45, with a sedentry lifestyle.


Answer

For your height, 210 pounds is the top of the “healthy weight range“, which corresponds to Body Mass Index (BMI) 24.9.  To maintain that weight at a sedentary activity level, 2350 calories are needed per day.  That is a realistic calorie goal for you now and forever.  If you become more active, your calorie requirements at maintenance could increase to 2500 to 2900 calories a day depending on your activity level.
