O.k., so in 1 hr. I will be having my friends over and were having a little christmas get together.....were having veggies/dip, cheese/crackers/sausage and I think my friend is bringing some little desserts, plus slush (alcohol).  I can feel myself already feeling like I need to snack!!! AHHHH I've told myself all week that I'm going to have a guilt free night, and eat what I want (in moderation of course) but I didn't work out today ( i never do on weekends) I just seem to be needing reassurance from EVERYWHERE that this is going to be ok. Please help!

It will be ok :)

 Relax, enjoy yourself!

You will have a guilt free night and nibble in moderation Laughing

Yes, like dolphin3303 said. Don't focus on the food, just have fun and enjoy the company of your friends ^^ It will be alright.

Thanks guys! I'm so glad I joined CC I love it, I'm the type of person that needs a lot of reassurance so that is helpful :) I will enjoy myself (guilt free of course) and I know I can do it and get back on tomorrow ...( and I will just have to do the smae at Christmas!) thanks again :)
Enjoy your party tonight-part of the holiday season is all about food after all!  If you feel like you are having a hard time turning away from the cheese tray, try sticking a mint or piece of gum in your mouth.  Cheese or meatballs don't taste so good with gum in the way!  :)
If you deprive or be too restrictive with yourself; you WILL end up bingeing and/or going off track eventually. It's OK to indulgence once in awhile. There's room in life for discretionary calories and for weight loss and maintenance to be successful, you have to do it in a way that you can keep up with for the rest of your life. Avoiding everything that's not-so-healthy can be done by some people, but most people enjoy some fattening, sweet foods in moderation. Even if you have a total day off, start back the next day.

I take a free day every 2 weeks without counting calories and I'm down 55lbs since June!
You'll be okay, just eat things in moderation. Also I always keep refilling the water while I'm at parties and drinking that keeps me from eating too much.
Veggies and dip sounds great! You can fill up on those!
If you don't want to snack too much, at the start of your get together, put everything you plan to eat on a little plate, and just eat off of that. If you take things from the serving platters, there will be no way to tell how much you've eaten already, so you could eat too much without knowing it.

I doubt you will, though. The fact that you're concerned about it tells me you'll be mindful and moderate in your eating. Do as you said, eat what you like! Have a fun party. :)
so how did it go?  did you survive it alright?  yes, the holidays can be so hard - tonight i am going out to dinner and am going to opt for the salmon with lots of vegetables... as well as something dark chocolate for dessert - it's a birthday dinner :S  at least i can get some nutritional value out of the chocolate if i am going to have it...

Hi! ya I did o.k., I didn't even do to bad, had lots of veggies and dip (low cal) crackers/cheese/garlic sausage and some spinach dip.  And for dessert I had one bite size brownie and a sugar cookie I decorated.  but for some reason I still have a VERY guilty conscious and I'm concerned, even though I actually didn't eat to bad.  I just feel like I did so bad. How can I get rid of this???? Maybe I feel bad because of the cheese and garlic sausage??? but 5 pcs. sausage is 150 cals. (thats what the packet says, taht seems pretty good for sausage.) Anywho I'll survive I just have to get over this fear of becoming what I was 20lbs. ago! I'm really noticing a difference in my clothes, everything is becoming so big YAY!! :) thanks for all the comments and reassurance I need it!! :):)
