Check them out at www.vibramfivefingers.com
what do you think? Good or bad for the body.
I think they're so disgusting looking that I'dlove a pair! and if they help my knees, even better.
Interesting concept. But unless they can accommodate an orthotic insert, they're a no-go for me.
eeww yuck i won't be going down that route no matter how popular they may become...
They are hilarious looking. And just like you - i love them for the 'differentness'!
I actually saw a guy at the gym working out in them. He was explaining the benefits of them to some on-lookers. I can see how having individual toe seperation could help with balance...
I'm all for barefeet - but I'm not sure how rubber BETWEEN your toes is 'natural'. Wouldn't it be like walking around with those pedicure sponges between your toes all day?
I don't think I can judge for or against without trying them on.
I saw 2 people at my gym wearing them. I really wanted to question them, but instead I looked them up. City Sports sells them, so I'm going there to try them on soon I hope! But maybe I can find them on amazon for cheaper.
I agree about having a pedicure sponge between toes -- had one yesterday!
I have a pair of these and I love them. They really help strengthen your feet and help you keep your balance. Once you have worn them for a while you don't notice the separation of the toes and it actually really helps straighten your toes.
I have shoes problems (I have yet to find a shoe besides vibrams and crocs that i can wear without my feet cramping up and aching) and this solves it. I've gotten a couple questions and compliments but most people don't really notice.
If you have any other questions I'll do my best to answer them!
I thought about them. I actually do my weight lifting at home barefoot. But I can't even stand to wear regular flip-flops.
I just can't stand having anything between my toes, so I can't imagine trying to get used to them.
They are kind of goofy looking, but they're no where as ugly as crocs. I can't imagine all that material between each toe being comfortable, but people get used to other shoes. Pointy-toed 3 inch heels are NOT comfortable for anyone, yet lots of women wear them to look sexy. You can't accuse these things of being sexy, EVER!
EDIT: Oh man I just found a price at $64.95 to $85.95, no freaking way would I pay that much.
Given my overall hatred of wearing shoes, I'd be game for giving them a wear. I just don't have the $$$ to toss out in an experiment.
hmm that'd be pretty sweet if it would straighten out my toes. My toes are kinda weird. Hehehe. And I hear they're good for deadlifts...
hmm, I don't tend to fall over that easy............so I don't get having the better balance thing....but then again, that's just me ![]()

My legs aren't thin enough to consider them.

haha, I work at a rock wall and I saw someone wearing them climbing yesterday =) She seemed pretty comfortable in them.
Everyone I've seen wearing them has given good reviews, but they are really funny looking. I'm with all of you on wanting to try them on first.
I got my pair!!!! and so far so good. I took them out for a run. I was scared at first because I forgot my knee brace, but then just went. I ran 2.5 miles in them with no pain anywhere. They day after I was very sore. but I have been wearing them everywhere all weekend.
they are really cool. Go to a shop and try them out.
I saw a man out on the trail yesterday wearing those. He was running in them and his small son was riding along on his little bike... I figured it was the boy equivalent of mom letting juniorette paint her nails and going out shopping with freddy kruger fingers out of love -- ("Daddy wear these shoes! I picked them out just for you!!") I had no idea adults are wearing those by choice. I consider myself very open minded, but those are some freakazoid looking shoes.
Crocs are ugly, but at least they are shaped like clogs, which are a kind of shoes that most people's brains already comprehend. Those vibram things come in slightly less jarring colors, I'll admit, but for goodness sakes, they are shaped like muppet feet, people!
When they make some shoes that are toe-separated on the inside/bottom, but not so egregiously look-at-me weird on top (there's no reason the top has to look like toes too) I'll consider them.
those look super comfy, pretty ridiculous but still stimulating

I love my crocs!! :'(
...and clogs. So comfy! :3
My husband and I both have vibram's They are great on the beach especially. My husband has arch problems and he loves his and they even seem to be helping correct his foot problems. I'm a barefootin girl so I took to them pretty quick. We do get weird looks from some, and questions from others.........but honestly.........these are best shoes in the world in my opinion, I read some articles recently on them and actually they are finding you run more efficiently barefoot than in tennis shoes.........those that run in them say they love them. I'm not a runner, but I will tell you I can walk all day long in them and not get tired.......
