Victoria Beckham Should've Been the One Named "Scary Spice"

 

When she debuted a decade ago, she had a lean, but healthy-looking body, a pretty face and a slick look that earned her the nickname "posh".  But now, she maintains a skeletal physique with bolt-on robo-boobs, a permanent pout and expressionless gaze, and somehow manages to stay in the tabloids despite never actually doing anything.

I didn't think they all looked that bad, and Xtina Aguilera's may have been from her pregnancy, which had not yet been announced at the time the slideshow came out...

 I read that she will have nothing but unsweetened tea even on transatlantic flights.  Now that is dogged dedication to being a silicone-enhanced skeleton.

I've heard alot of things about her weird eating habits....but have you seen her when she knows the camera is on her?  She does all sorts of weird things.  That pouty thing she does is so annoying.  I mean everyone on camera will be laughing and talking and she'll just be pouting and staring directly at the camera.

The only reason she gets away with  being that thin is because of who she is, who she is married to and because she has somehow been able to get to a skeletal weight and maintain it without going any lower.   I think that if she got down much lower, her husband would have stepped in and forced her to stop.  This is what I heard anyway.

Either way, I think she is u-g-l-y.  Just goes to show you that being thin does NOT make you beautiful.

It's people like you that probably led her to develop an eating disorder. She must feel that if she can't be pretty by your standards at least she can be thin.

I quite like Victoria. She clearly cannot sing yet she managed to become part of a popular girl band, marry herself into great wealth and form a supercouple that makes millions and receives lots of attention and adoration.

 I'm pretty sure she was talking about "on the inside" as well as her snotty attitude.  She was always described as the pretty and glamorous one of the bunch.  I seriously doubt that she got called "ugly" or fat.  Her ED, if she has one, is because of her obsession with being and looking perfect.

I do think she can be likeable in interviews.  I have no idea why she pulls that snotty attitude whenever cameras are snapping.  But of the Spice Girls, I like Mel C the best - she can sing and is not stuck up or obsessed with looking perfect.

It's horrible that people can be so hateful of Victoria Beckham when all she did was act 'posh'. It's her thing, isn't it? When the cameras are snapping she HAS to do her pout and act all fabulous because it's what makes her famous and it's the reason she gets publicity. It would be quite dull if she just smiled meekly.

 Hmm.  I never saw any problem with her nose, and she was always my second favorite Spice after Scary back in the day, but now Scary has messed up her hair and makeup so that she doesn't look as good as she used to, and I have really liked Mel C's solo stuff.  It's just Victoria that has disappointed by really just being a celeb wife and shopping etc.  They have more money than anyone, so she could be doing charitable ventures or something like Jolie and Pitt, but she only seems interested in presenting this one vapid image.  I guess she deserves credit for not being a trainwreck like Britney or others, but she has so much, it would be nice to see her doing more constructive things and not just shopping and pouting.

If she gains about 5 lbs and loses the implants, and maybe relaxes her attitude a bit, I think she'd look great again.  Like would it kill her to smile now and then?

So she's not into doing the whole fake smile thing at every opportunity and she could smile a bit more, but maybe she's sensitive about her teeth? Also, without the implants and her trademark skinnyness, she'd blend into the crowd of talentless celebrities. While Brangelina seem to do all this charity it comes across as publicity seeking. I can never take a celebrity's charitable actions as sincere so I'm glad Victoria isn't trying to present that kind of image. I enjoy seeing Vicky when she's with her children, when she's with them she seems truly happy and caring.

She and David were on Barbara Walters' list of the most fascinating people of 07, and when she was interviewing them, she asked victoria if she ever smiled.

victoria said no. she just doesn't smile.

i think the only reason people are so fascinated with her is because she looks like she just got transplanted here from another planet. seriously...who doesn't smile?

Her face reminds me of Derek Zoolander's Magnum expression... Stupid, unchanging, and void of any thought.

I am horrified by this thread for so many reasons.

1. When The Spice Girls first started auditioning Victoria was chubby by current standards - I would guestimate her to be around 140-150lbs.
2. She had horrifyingly bad teeth (which have since been fixed), which could very easily explain why she doesn't smile - old habits die hard.
3. She was crucified in the tabloids after her first pregnancy for gaining baby weight.
4. In every interview I have ever seen with her she comes across as being perfectly down to earth and very pleasant.
5. She got a bad boob job, so what? People get them all the time. It's hardly a crime.
6. On a website where the sole purpose is to be responsible for every calorie that goes into your body you are denigrating her for being extremely strict? Give me a break. If you showed her self restraint every day you would post about how proud you are of yourself.
7. The way people are so happy to throw insults around about her, it is hardly surprising that she has developed an eating disorder - it is a small part of her world that she can exert control over.
8. Lastly, Geri Halliwell looks far worse that Victoria Beckham these days but none of you care because she isn't enough of a celebrity here in the US. Don't believe me? Check out her at the Victoria Secret show (photo in my profile) and tell me she doesn't look emaciated. 

actually, geri halliwell is my favorite spice girl. she looks thin, but i wouldn't say emaciated. she does, however, look like she's had more plastic surgery than any human being should ever have, and i think that looks pretty sick too. but this thread isn't about her.

Actually I had thought of Geri too, I saw a picture of her a couple weeks ago and she was so skinny...I can't really remember that far back, but didn't people make comments about her weight? I felt sorry for her if that caused her to try to get super skinny.

And about Victoria saying she doesn't smile, I have seen a couple pictures of her smiling.

on the barbara walters special, when barbara asked her to give her infamous pouty look, instead of giving the pout, she did actually smile and giggle a bit ... so I'm not sure why people don' t think she smiles.  what she did say was that she never eats cake or cookies, but that's obvious just by looking at her.

I like Victoria Beckham. A lot. And I think she is super duper smart. I don't buy at all that she unintelligent. The not smiling thing is part of this persona which she's made up for herself. And it works - look how many of us are talking about it here?!?!? They make money by selling press and she sells press with this persona. She's talked about it in interviews before, the not smiling. I think she is down to earth and I think she enjoys making fun of herself, and I think some people don't get that is what she's doing.

I think she's one smart cookie. Regardless of her b00bs or her nose or any of that stuff. We all have our issues... and as far as the chartible stuff goes. Who knows what they are doing behind the scenes. Not everyone needs to call a press conference every time they do something good for other people. (I'm sure that Pitt/Jolie have a helluva lot more money to donate, too.)

Someone mentioned Brangelina up there, as in why isn't VB more charitable/ compassionate with all her riches.

Am I the only one that is turned off by Brad and Angelina? They come off as wildly self-righteous in interviews and just their general demeanor. Also, I have never found Brad Pitt attractive at all, which makes me apparently the only woman who feels that way. 

I have never got the feeling of self-righteousness for Angelina and Brad (I refuse to call them "Brangelina" just because you are with someone doesn't mean your names should be lumped together- its just rude). Angelina at least clearly cares about her charity work, and seems to devote more time to it than she does acting, which I think is perfectly honourable.

Anyway, back to the Beckhams- they annoy the hell out of me, but to be fair, living in England means I have had to put up with them for a lot longer.

I've never really found David that good looking, I am not a fan of men that care THAT much about fashion and their appearance- give me a real man any day lol. As for "posh", that pout thing has to end, it is just a joke now and it definitely does not make her look more attractive.

No - you are NOT the only one. I think she is gorgeous, but I've never liked her demeanor. And Brad seems to have gotten worse. I mean... this is totally silly because obviously I don't know them personally. LOL!! But they both seem totally self-righteous to me.

However I have to disagree on Brad's attractiveness. I definitely think he is one of the top 5 best looking men in the world. I am a sucker for pretty boys though, and that's prolly why I like David Beckham also ;)

Alex used to have a crush on Victoria Beckham.  I'm glad she turned out creepy looking.  It makes teasing him that much more enjoyable.
