Post one of your most recent or most exciting succeses. Whether it's 1.5 lbs lost last week, your longest run, your new size, your new confidence, being able to fit into your favorite jeans, discovering a new recipe, etc. Any achievement you have at all! I think it's fun to read people's most recent successes and it really motivates me to keep going!

In a most recent success, I've finally lost my first 5 pounds. Woohoo!

Iam a size smaller now at 22 than i was at 13. :) That feels pretty good. Also i think for the first time in my life i'm not overweight. My mind doesnt seem to agree but im getting there.

I'm exactly in the same boat! Right now I weigh less then what I did at 13(I'm also about 22 ) The thinking does take awhile to change though. Keep up the good work, and unfortunetly maintaining does take some effort. Remember your beautiful at any weight!

Awww, Olivia, that was great!  I think this is the first time I've heard someone on here say anything along the lines of "Remember your beautiful at any weight!"  Very sweet of you!  For some reason, that kind of made my day...

Yay! I'm glad I could brighten's someones day. I just wish more people could be content with their bodies. We are all beautiful in our own way regaurdless of what hollywood has made us believe.

I have 3 daughters, aged 2, 4 and "almost" 8. This really got me thinking... how often I complain about my body in front of them... terrible!!!  So, before they could get into the kitchen for their snack, we all had to say one thing we liked about our bodies. It was quite cute. I think we'll make this a regular "game"!!!

I lost a little more than two pounds in the last week! I am really excited today. Now I am just waiting for the results to start to show. I have lost almost 8 pounds since starting this but I can't see any results yet.. maybe that will be my next success :)

Yay!!! I like that game! Positive encouragement goes so much farther then negative. Theres a statistic that almost 50% of 8 year olds have thought about dieting/or gone on a diet. I'm happy that your teaching them young to love them selves. Some one needs to and it's certainly not Hollywood!

Awesome idea!  I think I'll try that out on my kids.  They are 9 (girl) and 11 (boy) and I'm sure both hear me complain about my body way more than they care to.  I really should watch that.

I really like that "one thing that we like about our bodies" game.  I have a 4 year old daughter and a 6 year old son.

I have a success I'd like to share Smile

I live at the top of a 2km hill. So my exercise has been to bike down and back up the hill.  The last few times I did it I had to get off my bike 3 or 4 times at the steepest part and walk.

Today, I biked the whole thing in one go!!!!  I am so excited.  I'm going to try again tomorrow.

I lost 22 lbs! I used to be a cross country runner in high school and always felt I ate "healthy" but I became used to eating big portions as a runner. When I stopped running in college, I kept eating those huge portions. The foods I overate the most were meat and pasta. I was not even aware of how much I was overeating until I started this journey and brought out my measuring cups. The point that made me wake up was going to the dr.'s office and realizing I gained yet another 7 lbs that year and I was borderline overweight for my BMI - and definitely out of my ideal weight range because I am a small frame person. That made me get serious about doing something to lose weight. I also gave up sweets during the weight loss period, and now I try to only eat low-fat sweets like frozen yogurt. Now I know a lot more about nutrition and I feel confident - back to my 18 yr old weight!

i reached my lowest ever weight today! 71.8kgs. still have more to lose but i'm slowly getting there Laughing

I lost 5kg in 4 months :)

All through downsizing my meals :):)

Last night, we went to church. We usually go on Tuesdays, but on Tuesday I was so tired that I was literally falling asleep sitting up. So we decided to stay home, and I thought, Ok, I'll exercise tonight instead, after I rest a bit (I don't work out on Tuesdays usually because I work from 8-5, get home at 5:45 and then church is from 7:00 - 9:00, home at 9:30 or 9:45...you get the picture).

Well, I fell asleep at 6pm, and woke up at 9pm! And then of course I was really groggy and couldn't possibly work out like that. The next day, my monthly friend arrived (now I understand why I was suddenly hit by the wave of exhaustion the night before), AND we went to church...but when I got home at 9:45, I FORCED myself to do the workout I had planned, 30 minutes of abs and weight lifting. All the way through, no cheating, no rests. And it made me get really bad cramps afterward. Needless to say, I slept like a baby last night after such a packed day! And today I am so pleased that I didn't cop out, that I stuck to my guns and, late or not, period or not, I worked out!

Congrats on all the successes everyone!

Mine are:

(1) I'm finally a DOCTOR!!!

(Although not the kind that can save people, or the kind you'd want on a plane during a crisis or anything useful to anyone really.)

(2) I also ran 5 miles today in 90 degree weather instead of chilling on a patio and drinking beers with my friends. I joined them after the run.

Actually, now that I think about it, resisting beer and making myself run in the hot humid yuck today was almost as difficult as getting through grad school. Go me!

ahaha that's awesome. im going to be a doctor too. im still undergrad and graduating in may (still have my 4.0!!!) but i'd be worthless on a stranded island or plane crisis when i get my doctorate as well. i'd put you to sleep though =]

i originally just wanted to read everyone else's vics but figured since i was replying i'd include mine:

my boyfriend is in iraq and so he's either working or working out and i just recently noticed that i've gained a little weight recently (a little eye opener when i did my bmi and found i was on the verge of being overweight although you really cant tell on me) and figured we'd both see each other as new us's. I started the 3rd at 149 and now i'm 142 (5'5"). i've been eating better, not as much and i can tell my stomach is used to eating less so calorie counting is easier now than when i first started, i can tell a difference in so many ways in that i sleep better, run better, even my nails are better (a little weird thing to notice i know but i never knew how just changing a few things would impact so much). i run about 3 miles a day and weight lift and want to work that mileage up. and this weekend im treating myself to a brand new pair of sneakers for running

=]

My skinny jeans fit.  I can just pull them on and tie them.  No need to wriggle, jump round the room, lie on the bed.  I LOVE IT!

I lost 30 pounds in 3 months.  I dropped from a size 16 to a size 12 jeans.  A size 1X - 2X shirt to a size large.  I feel really GOOD!  I have 30 or 40 pounds more to go but this is the most weight I have EVER lost and I think I can finally do it!!

I reached a personal best of 50 miles run in a week with a long run of 15 miles. I could barely run a half mile back in January. And after 7 months I'm going into maintenance at 109 lbs! I'm still trippin' that I finally got here. And holy cat, I'm a size 2!

Grats to everyone for their accomplishments large and small!

Well...I have been going at this eating well + exercise thing for a week now, and I was absolutely petrified to step on the scales this morning because I get pretty disappointed if the number hasn't changed or has increased.

But I am down 1.1 kg (2.4 pounds) :D

I've lost 21.1 lb so far this summer!  About another 19 lb to go.... over half way there!

Thanks so much for the encouragement...I feel great so far; as a matter of fact, this evening we had tuna burgers (late dinner) and rather than eating two as I usually do, I cut back to 1.5, cutting my caloric intake down by nearly 165 calories! And I am full. That's the best part...knowing that my stomach is "shrinking." Laughing

If this keeps up, I'll reach my goal in no time, lol.

Good luck to you, too ~ I know we can both do this...

I hope it's ok to quote myself, lol...not to be 'conceited' or anything like that...but I wanted to share my latest victory 'update' with everyone. Last week I ordered a new size from my favorite catalog ~ and it fits!!

I have been a 2X for about 15-20 years, ever since I had my son (who will be 21 in October). My husband has been telling me that I look like I am melting away, and, since I needed a new outfit for a family reunion this past weekend, I went to Roaman's/Woman Within & sent for a size 1X top, just out of curiosity...but to be safe, I also ordered it in the usual 2X.

Well, I ended up having to send back the 2X because it is TOO BIG!!! I can hardly believe it! I am now a 1X ~ this is huge for me! And since they are usually cheaper, I will also be able to save money when I shop.

To make it even better: ever since I broke my R leg (Feb 08) I have been a 22T in jeans/slacks. So, I ordered new jeans in 20T (my old size before the accident) and THEY FIT also!! The 22T was getting really baggy, lol, so needless to say, I am thrilled! Laughing

I still have a long way to go ~ 76 lbs to lose ~ but this is certainly a start & very encouraging, to say the least...

I did a 9 minute mile.

And I did 3k in 18 minutes.

I'm so unbelievably smug right now it's not even funny :P

well, it's not much, but after starting this website i've been eating healthier (although i still havent gotten around to doing much excercise) and i've found that i really enjoy eating the right foods at the right times (its really no fun when you just eat to eat rather than eat when hungry and to enjoy).

although my goal was just to get into a healthier eating routine, i did still lose a few of the pounds i gained within the past year. yay for me
