For your viewing pleasure, the Secret Tom Cruise Raving Psycho Scientology Video!!!
http://gawker.com/5002269/the-cruise-indoctri nation-video-scientology-tried-to-suppress
Okay, the original link was taken down, so I linked to Gawker, which has promised NOT to take down the video they are hosting despite threats to sue from the cult.
It doesn't have the other wacko videos from the Scientology Awards ceremony, but it does have his bizarre rant. Enjoy!
The second post dedicated to him in the last couple days
=big fat mancrush!
Click on all of them then click pause, so they can load - they have already taken a couple down.
Yeah, it's a man-crush. I'm really into tiny men with really long teeth.
I'd be the first to admit a man-crush. I have on on Greg Grunberg on "Heroes". Tom Cruise, honestly gives me the creeps.
i HAAAATEEE tom cruise so much.
Try this one. I don't even know wtf he's talking about in it, it's the ravings of a lunatic.
seriously, i'm afraid i'm gonna get brain washed just watching that crap. how in the HELL do people take that seriously?! it has to be mind control.
well I just watched the whole video in the OP and my reaction is
???
so, he feels it's his mission to help people... ok
and you're either in all the way or you're not... ok
but after reading the wiki entry about it, the beliefs don't seem that much more unusual or implausible than some other belief systems that teach reincarnation
I don't know - I wasn't scared of him. I felt sort of sorry for someone to be saying so much without saying much of anything.
The TomBot has his crazy eyes back. Joy!
Also just thought I would mention that Greg Grunberg is mine XD
I also think he is talking about something he is passionate about with people who share or who are interested in sharing his philosophy. It's really not that much different that really really religious people....I didn't think...also the clip would stop and then start with that camera flash sound which says to me, the whole thing could have been taken out of context to make it what it is...:) Doing good, stopping for accidents, having to try to make a differnence, thinking you know the answer to that....not really all that crazy to me! Better than sitting on a couch eating potato chips, drinking beer, watching Survivor and not caring about the rest of the world.... ?? Artists are often edgy and eccentric - it's what makes them good at what they do.

To me it's not what he's saying (or not saying)... it's how fervent he is that's scary.
He just struck me as not having his guard up. I'm sure I've laughed so hard I could barely speak intelligently when sharing a funny story with a friend... granted, he wasn't sharing an especially funny story. Mostly he seemed to be sharing some kind of experience of "knowing" something that you "know" when you're in that religion.
:)

Good description - there was a lot of babble, most of it comprehensible, but ultimately meaningless. I could string together random words from a dictionary and say just as much as he did in that 8 minutes.
And I agree - I pity him, and am concerned for Katie and his little girl. I couldn't help but find myself hoping that someone, somehow, whisks him away for deprogramming.
On edit: Something that actually is scary - he references "KSW", which is "Keeping Scientology Working", which is based of a series of memos by Hubbard, which talks about the specifics of how to advance Scientology. Tom Cruise may be a kook, but what he's talking about is just bizarre.
And I have to comment on "we unite cultures" - REALLY? So all we had to do this entire time with Palestine and Isreal is just send YOU over there? slaps forehead.....DOH!!!! ![]()

What were they even talking about?

Note: The video is from 2004, so Cruise looked a little different then - he had a large weight gain then loss since then.
As for the editing, I just want to clarify that yes, the video is heavily edited, but it was edited in this fashion by the Scientologists. If you view the main video in context with all the other Scientology videos from that awards ceremony, you'll see that the camera flash and mission impossible music and weird narrator were used throughout.
Just so you know it wasn't an anti-cruise meanie editing him to sound bad - no, it was the scientologists who edited him. I'd be curious to see the unedited version, too, but that will not happen as this tape was smuggled out of a scientology center by a disillusioned member.
dawn, I know you're trying to be fair-minded about it, but this "religion" uses intimidation and lawsuits constantly to silence its many critics. It drains people dry of their money, it makes members sever ties with friends and family if they don't like Scientology, it uses mind control techniques and coercion, and was founded by a con man who as much as admitted that it's nothing but a business.
In fact, the group had to sue the government to get tax-exempt status because they were not consided a religion -and they are not. They're more akin to Amway than any spirituality-based religion.

Yeah. They are a bunch of kooks. I totally agree with that. They really do drain people of their money, push them to sever ties with other family, and Hubbard was a con man who was no more than a science fiction writer....freaky.
But I STILL don't worry about them as much as, for instance, a devil worshipper. What good has the devil ever done? At least Tom Cruise is talking about kindness and helping people.

I personally don't believe in a "devil" it's just a metaphor for the evil that exists in human hearts, but anyway, I don't think there really are many people who seriously worship the devil. Mostly kids who do it to look "cool", and others who do it for show as a way to rebel and annoy self-righteous fundamentalists. The vast majority of people who join religions do so in hopes of improving their own lives and the lives of others. I would include scientologists in that, but I think they are being manipulated and brainwashed a lot more than people in mainstream religions.
The problem is not that scientologists do harm to people outside the religion, it's that they harm the people inside it. It's one thing for a church to pass around a collection plate, it's another thing when a cult makes its members sign over the deeds to their homes.
