Vitamins and Supplements
Does anyone use any special vitamins or supplements to help with running? All I am taking right now is a multi vitamin and was wondering if I should add something else.
It's not really special but I take Glucosamine and Chondroitin daily. I am training for a marathon and it really helps me "pop less." I just take 2 triple strength every morning. I avg about 30-40 miles a week right now and it helps with the snap and pop of running....if that makes ense to you.
When I get up in the morning, it is usually snap, crackle and pop from my ankles to my neck. I ran a 5k this weekend and felt fine the next day. I worked in my garden yesterday and can barely walk today. I thought gardening was supposed to be relaxing!
With the gardening you used muscles in ways you haven't used them in a while. I spent about 1/2 hour raking on Friday.....needless to say I struggled with my Sat long run and I'm in my taper before my first marathon of the season May 9th. My upper arms/shoulders were so sore it was hard to pump my arms. As runners we stay healthy but when we don't do the right cross training or strength training we sure turn into wimps, lol.
