Has anyone else tried them?
In case you have never seen them, they are little frozen muffins that have only100 calories and up to 7 grams of fiber and are low in fat. To me they seem too god to be true. They come in a double chocolate, blueberry bran, cranberry bran, and raisin bran flavors. The deep chocolate one is so good. But i'm having a hard time trusting them because its so weird to find 'healthy' low calorie, good tasting muffins
The double chocolate are an orgasm in my mouth! I'd kinda forgotten about them b/c I fell of the dieting bandwagon 10 months ago and I have to go to a different grocery store than usual to find them, but boy were they worth it! It was like having cake for a snack. Yummy yum yummers!!
P.S. Thanks for reminding me about them. Hitting Hy-vee tomorrow to pick up a box! ![]()
The best thing about the Vita brand things is not only do they have the muffins but they have 100 calorie muffin TOPS for those who like the fluffy half.
They have been tested before and people [like Lisa on hungry-girl.com] have given the 110% seal of approval that they arent too good to be true.
I was a skeptic at first, too. No worries ;]
They're pretty good but not quite like "the real thing." It's not very sweet and it's very dense and not as chocolatey as I would like. I think they're still good for satisfying a craving for such low calories, and they're definitely worth a try. I gave them up because they're kinda expensive, and I decided to eat vegan, and they have egg whites in them... sadly. ![]()
OMG I love them! They are expensive but that depends on how you measure value....a 600cal lrg cone could be $2.50 compared to a 100cal better quality food that costs a little more. 600cals is going to be a better bang for you buck, but it will also give you a BIGGER bang for your BUTT!!! haha
quality vs. quantity.
ya they are very good. i was surprised because they are frozen and usually frozen foods aren't that great
My wife and I have been eating them for a number of years. We order directly from Vitalicious (http://www.vitalicious.com/). I love the Velvety chocolate. Its only 80 calories, no sugar, and low in sodium. The others are higher in sugar and sodium than I prefer these days. What I like is that in addition to tasting good, they hold one, e.g. you don't feel hungry right away.
They are pretty tastey, aren't they? I love them too and order them all the time.
I also want to add that their customer service is AMAZING! Once I was delivered a box, and UPS left it on my doorstep and it was invaded by ants. I simply emailed and they shipped me a new batch ASAP with no charge.
I really need to order more soon.
kthompson92, which Hy-vee? I have looked at 2 (Johnston and Urbandale) and can't find them! Dahls has them, but they were close to $6 a box. Are they that expensive at Hy-vee? Thanks!!
