Voltarol Side Effects?
I've been put on these anti-inflammatories by my doc for a knee injury, and im worried about the looong side effects list!
has anyone else taken voltarol and how did it effect you?
I ahd voltarol when i had a huge operation on my jaw great painkiller! lol.
as for side effects I didn't have any at all! votarol was always very kind to me I've had it twice now and I have voltarol cream for my knees and ankles when they get painful and swell up. never had a problem at all.
oh nice one! i took my first lot today about 3 hours ago and the only effect it seems to have had is to make me drowsy and nauseus, my knee still feels just as sore :S did it take a while to kick in?
I was on then for about 6 weeks the first week or so I was in pain all the time. take a few and it'll start working got to give it time. pain is your way of your body tellign you there is something wrong and pain killers shut off that reaction so your body is going to do all it can to keep telling you there is some thing wrong.
as for the drowsyness yeah, i had that but I was taking codeine as well so I was like, sky high. lol. I'd also had some morpheine when i first came round... i was well doped up.
drowsyness is probably normal but as long as you're not driving its ok. and you're probably supposed to be resting your knee anyway so having a sleep will only help with that! :D
Diclofenac (voltarol in the uK, voltaren in the us) is one of the most potent anti-inflammatories and is related to ibuprofen. If you are having nausea -- are you taking it on a empty stomach?
It is very effective at controlling inflammation and pain. If it isn't working for you, don't just start taking more like the other poster suggested. The side effects can be very serious. Really, you should be talking to your chemist/pharmacist about the medication if you have concerns. If you have a good one, they will be honest with you about what to expect and have suggestions to help. There are other anti-inflammatories that might not make you as drowsy.
