I'm hoping that someone can help. Only a few stores make 00 sized clothing. next would be to go down to children's sizes if the waist in a 00 is still too big...how are children's clothes different than teen and adult clothes, other than the length? Is there something wrong with shopping in the children's department? Please advise!
my friend is petite, about the same height as me but very small boned. she can sometimes fit into the stuff in gap kids... but sometimes hips can be a problem!!!
obviously children don't have any shape, whereas grown women do... so the cut is often different.
i can get a childrens sized dressing gown though, because i'm short haha, and it was like half the price which is one upside i suppose...
so yeah, gap kids... can't think of any others, but i live in the uk!!

No, I'm sorry, I gotta say this.
You're a full grown woman. If you need to be shopping for children's clothes than please stop fecking about and get some help. Seriously.
Is there something wrong with shopping in the children's department? Um.. yes. Yes, there definately is.

It is definitely a problem when you can't find clothes to fit you!! I'd say see your doctor like HK said.
I have plenty of shape...you can see from my pictures posted on the sight. I'm not petite either. I dont understand why there is a problem. Hkellick, I can see what you're trying to get at, but I dont care what any MAN thinks except my husband. I dont lose or gain weight for what other people are thinking. Its all for myself. Who are YOU living for?
Per my doctor, I'm 100% healthy!:)
Then, Crevansa, you need a new doctor :p
You wrote it yourself in your profile, DISTORTED BODY IMAGE
There are junior sizes, you know, like for teenagers. Sometimes I have to get cloths from that department but not all of it fits right, especially in the arms, and sometimes the pants don't fit right. Plus the sizes are different compared to adult sizes.
Crevansa- personally I don't think you look too thin at all- you look pretty healthy to me. As to shopping... My problem is the opposite- I have to go to "larger woman" stores. But I'm thinking probably the junior department would be a good place to start instead of the children's area cause you do have some curves that a 10 year old doesn't. And that's a good thing.... :=)....
Courtney- I can't even express how upset this post makes me. You look great in your photo, but I know you weigh much less than that now. Please get some help, not for me or anyone else but for yourself!
take care.
take care.
Yes, unless you're under 5 feet, you're not sized for the children's
department and shouldn't need it. And if you do, well you weigh
less than pretty much every other healthy adult in the country who is
able to find adult clothing. That would be an indication of some
sort of problem, be it a tapeworm, cancer treatment, or an eating
disorder. It's not normal. I don't know what you weigh now,
but being too skinny is not attractive. And it can kill you,
remember Karen Carpenter? I do, beautiful voice, but she's dead
now. And that was after she recovered I believe, the damage to
her heart was just too great.
Geez Hkellick i don't really think that "new doctor" comment was neccesary...i've noticed on this site if someone is the least bit in shape they need to gain weight says everyone, it's like you cant even ask a question without being badgered about anorexia
Omagosh, Courtney, I looked at your profile and pictures and I'm sorry if this offends you, but girl, you're already thin as it is. I can't believe you actually want to lose more weight. Especially your most recent picture of you and your girlfriends where you said that "you're heavier than you'd like to be". That really caught my attention. Do you realize how you look to people on the outside looking in? You should be satisfied with where you're at right now....especially since you're a fitness instructor. I'm sure you're a wonderful person... love you for being you and what's on the inside.
No... you NEED to hear some harsh words of warning and ALARM... the following is taken from your OWN profile which sends up really scary red flags to me.
I joined this site knowing that I have a problem with food and weight. I am currently considered "underweight" according to this site's BMI calculator, but I feel like I would feel a lot more confident losing another 20 lbs or so. ***DISTORTED BODY IMAGE!***
I also feel like another reason I've joined the site is to have a wide range of support, and perhaps adversaries to help me in my battle with overcoming my main problems with food...BINGEING, PURGING, and OVEREATING. Its going to be a long road, but its the people on this site that have really opened my eyes to a lot. <end quote>
My dear, these are signs of a VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM!!! I'm with Hk once again... you need to see a professional. There isn't a doctor that would tell you you can safely lose another 20 pounds if you are underweight already and looking for children's sized clothing because 00 doesn't fit you.
GET HELP! Please. The best help we can offer is to wave the red flag. We're not professionals, but we certainly can tell the signs of trouble.

jdub, I don't know how long you've been on this site but I think the reason why everyone is jumping all over courntey is because we've seen her post about bad body image and feeling out of control with food issues before, so this post is a big red flag for those of us who 'know' her.
This site attracts anorexics. I mean, it's perfect for them. It attracts them the same reason it attracts other people trying to lose weight. The problem is, a lot of them try to get on here and get attention from the rest of us, and some of us just get annoyed every now and then. Tha's all.

it's true. I mean, you have to know that you're going to get (negative) attention when you post on a weight loss web site that you want to go from a double 0 to children's size and you're over age 12. Most of us would be estatic to get down to a size 10.
Especially since she said that she's not petite. If you're not under 5 feet, you shouldn't be wearing children's sizes. It's a big sign that you are not being healthy. Also having an UNDERWEIGHT BMI and still wanting to lose 20 pounds?? Please get some help. There are serious complications to eating disorders.
Two words. Terry Schivo. They believe that she lapsed into her coma because of bulimia. I don't know about you, but I'd prefer spending the next 20 years NOT in a coma.

Um, I bought some t-shirts from the children's department in Target the other week and they're wonderful. I have narrow shoulders, a short torso, and not much in the breast department, so a scoop-neck marketed for a ten-year-old is embarrassingly a perfect fit. Adult sized scoop necks always fall too far off my shoulders and look slutty. So in some instances, buying things from the kids section isn't THAT bad!
OK,
jdub and jen32966,
Before you jump to the conclusion I'm overreacting, please look at HER PICTURE (click the link folks). Yes, I agree, in her public picture, Courtney looks great. Now? Not so much.

jdub, you clearly have no idea what you're talking about and it's actually you who are in the wrong for jumping on us for giving courtney a hard line.
if you had ever read any of courtney's posts before or her profile, you would know that she has a severely distorted vision of her body and is dealing with some very serious and dangerous eating habits. she has posted many times before seeking help from these issues and we only got to that point through a lot of dedication and love.
try reading this link. or any of the other posts courtney has made.
please try to be more informed next time you slam other people for their actions.

I'm really curious about how your husband is reacting now. Do you talk about your food issues with him?
