Ok I have the box of pre=made waffles... and it says to add all this business... what do I put in there to make it have less calories and less fat.... like can't I replace the oil and eggs with something else??

You can replace the eggs with egg substitute or egg whites with no problem. But I'm not sure that the usual replacement of the oil with applesauce will work for waffles. You could try a half a batch and see what happens. My worry would be that the outside of the waffle wouldn't be crisp or that it might stick to the iron.
Does anyone have actual experience with doing this?

I have a bad feeling about replacing the oil. I agree with clairelaine that it's probably going to stick to your waffle iron. I see disaster looming, but you could always try it for fun! Let us know what happens!!
I love having waffles for breakfast. Is there any way that can lower the calories? Can I mix oats with the mix? Suggestions are appreciated!
waffles are one of the foods that are intended to be eaten normal with butter and fat and all the good stuff. ive tryed to make them healthy... bad idea, they are worse than a doorstop. but when i made em with butter and A-p flour and normaly sugar, they tasted fluffy and buttery, they were great, and were as God intended them to be.
if your worried about calories, make a normal recipe and just have one or half of a waffle.

I hear waffles are good with fried chicken on top (not joking!)
waffles with chicken and gravy is a famous dish
Ew, waffles with that chicken and gravy stuff is a Pennsylvania Dutch thing. My mom used to make it when I was a kid and she had to bribe me with a dessert of another waffle with ice cream on top to get me to choke down one waffle with that chicken sludge.
And I wonder why I was a chubby teenager...
