Wahoo! Fitness Accomplishment!

Quote  |  Reply

I am just so happy right now... I ran a mile straight through! I know that may not seem like much to everyone here, but wow... I can't believe I did it.  I don't think I've ever done that-- even when I was in highschool and 50 pounds lighter!!

Gosh, I am so proud of myself right now, & seeing as how in this weightloss world I often face more disappointment than accomplishment, I wanted to share.

Good luck everyone & thanks for reading!!

WOOHOO!!!!  That is AMAZING!!!  I remember my first mile, when I ran it I cried at the end of it.  Never having been a runner myself (and still honstly hating and not doing it) I know what a HUGE HUGE acomplisment this is.

So...what's your next goal?  5k???

Thanks for the kind words dovelette!!  I really appreciate it.  I would LOVE to do a 5k someday, but man, though I'm the closest I guess that I've ever been, it still seems like lightyears away!

Good for you!

I am working up to running.  I walk really fast.  The other day it occured to me:  Gee Sue, if you are trucking this fast maybe you should just run.  So...I tried it.  Just a few yards.  I thought is was pretty cool and way harder than I thought it would be.  But I looked back at my accomplishment and realized I had run up the only real hill on my trail.  Hmm...well I did not roll backwards or die of a heart attack. But I still dont want anyone watching my flub and flab wave in the breeze.

A mile!  Yay you!

I ran my first 1.5 miles yesterday!! I totally understand what your feeling, never having been a runner myself. When I first started, I couldn't even run a block without rolling over, haha. YAY!

YAY!  That is such an awesome accomplishment!  Congrats!  I used to run cross-country, and this is inspiring me to get back into it.  I've been too afraid, but I think I'll do it!

Congratulations! I've ALMOST done a mile, but not quite... and that felt like quite an accomplishment. Bravo to you!

That's amazing to me-- I'm fifteen years old and very healthy and I still have not gotten even close to a mile straight! Of course, I have some slight breathing disorder and I live in Colorado where the air is quite thin (that makes cardio hard for me, especially uphill, which is most of my route) but you've given me new inspiration to go a little longer. Who knows, maybe I'll be able to hit it too! Thanks for the encouragement, and keep on going!

Congratulations!! That is one of my goals also!! I am trying to go around the track twice and then power walk once and repeat.. it is 15 laps for a mile.. so I am slowly working to get there!!

That's fantastic! And it is a real accomplishment that you should be proud of. Keep up the great work.
