Walden Farms!
i'm not like working for them or anything, i'm just trying to get the word out there for anybody who's looking for lower-cal (aka no cal) alternatives, since dressing especially can be a pretty high count.
here's the website: http://waldenfarms.com/
Dressing 25 cals
Chx 170 cals
Lettuce 17 cals.
I love their stuff! Their bacon ranch and balsamic vinaigrette dressings are wonderful ... and their caramel dip is wonderful with apples! Their spicy barbecue sauce is great, and their seafood cocktail sauce is yummy. And I use their chocolate syrup, too.
Frankly, I didn't find their cost to be that expensive ... and they sure allow me to "spend" my calories elsewhere!

I Love walden farms! Someone on here mentioned them on here like 6 months ago (I've been a long time lurker), so I checked them out and bought just about 1 of everything to test out. Although their website said the products were at a local grocery store- I couldn't find them anywhere so I bought online.
I'm vegan- so I had to email walden to see what I could have (no dairy etc.) So I've tried just about everything that I could.
I am totally addicted to the balsamic vinagrette!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE IT! I use it as a cucumber dip every single day. It's actually my favorite dressing ever.
I also LOVE the pancake syrup. oh my god it's awesome. I don't really like most low cal no sugar pancake syrups (weird aftertaste) - but this one rocks!
I do use the caramel, chocolate, & marshmallow dips too-- but I do find they have a bit of a funky aftertaste, so I can only stand a teeny bit at a time or mixed with something. In fact one day I was having a horrible ice cream craving, so to trick my brain I took just 2 tbsp of fat free non-dairy cool-whip like stuff and mixed in a teeny bit of each of those 3 walden dips and holy cow it was yummy! & it did the trick too.
I've also tried:
sweet onion- (& I love onions) but yuck I didn't like that at all. I poured it over my dogs food to get rid of it. Then I couldn't stop smelling or tasting it the rest of the day. The weird onion taste lingered forever.
bacon ranch- (it was surprisingly non-dairy & fake bacon! haha) - and it was aweful too. again went to the dog.
italian- ok, but a little funny. I still have used it on salads, but I just can't desert my balsamic vingrt.
honey mustard- ok. I actually don't really like it on SALAD, but I do really like it in a chicken-type salad. Instead of mayo (eggless mayo for me) I mixed this honey mustard dressing with some chopped up soy chicken & some other things for a chicken salad type sandwich. pretty good that way.
oriental- pretty good as a stir fry dressing.
french- not very good kind of that weird aftertaste thing again. but i saved it just in case.
thousand island- actually pretty good. i just tasted it and put it in the fridge so i haven't tried it on a salad or anything yet but I was pretty surprised it was good since I don't like reg thousand island.
ketchup is a little weird. bbq sauce is too- but I'm sure on something they would be ok. I havne't used those in things yet.
the strawberry syrup and chocolate syrup are great for milk (soy milk).
the jellys... grape is good. strawberry my son loves, and it does taste fine but it kind of freaks me out that it dyes everything sooooo red (like the bread). It doesn't have color listed in the ingredients- but it has to have a ton of food color in it.... just the other day I tried the apple butter (jelly) and I actually reallly like it. And I hate apple jellies- gross! In fact I hate apple flavored anything. But this was more like an apple cider-y type (which i also hate- hahah). I mixed that with a bit of the caramel dip and dipped cucumbers in it (I know weird) and it was pretty good- I almost felt like it was something high calorie!
The marinara is a little weird- although I do use it. Its pretty spicy- and does that weird dye things red thing too. I tried it on Tofu Shirataki and it dyed the noodles pink and I was thoroughly disgusted! and it actually made a pretty terrible meal. But I have found that it works for as the sauce for homemade pizzas (on la tortilla factory low cal tortillas). yum!
I also did finally find it at my local grocery store for $1 cheaper than the W.F. website - in the INTERNATIONAL FOODS AISLE! Who would have thought to look there! It was in between the oriental foods and kosher foods. However, they don't have my beloved balsamic!!! So 2 weeks ago I ordered 10 bottles of the balsamic (you can get up to 10 bottles for the same shipping price as 1)-- and it hasn't come yet. I finished off the last of what I had on friday- so I've been 2 days without it and I don't know what to do with myself.. hahahah
:)
Our local store only carries some of the salad dressings and the caramel/chocolate dip, so I just ordered a bunch of their items to try from their online store. Thanks for the reviews, freakykitty.
I'm going to try the spicy BBQ sauce on my vegan burgers!

I do get the SF chocolate syrup, though, and really like it - it's great drizzled over sf jello and Cool Whip free or a 100 calorie cup of ice cream with a little sliced frozen banana. Yum,
Not everyone is able to tolerate the artificial sweetners, but in small quantities they don't bother me.
Please do not give these products to your dog, though, they really do not tolerate them well at all!
I just tried the peanut butter today and it almost made me throw up. Most disgusting thing ever. What a waste of money!
The blue cheese dressing is pretty nasty on its own but I mix it with a regular blue cheese (about 1 1/2 tbs of Walden Farms with about 1 tsp of regular) and it is better to me than low fat blue cheese. Or, sometimes, I'll use just the Walden Farms dressing and add real blue cheese crumbles. I use it to cut the calories so that I can enjoy a little of the real stuff. You have to remember that some fat is good for your hair, skin, nails, not to mention your digestive systems.
