Walden Farms Peanut Butter?
Hi, i was wondering if anyone out there has tryed walden farms peanut butter spread. Did you like it? What was the texture like? Did it taste like peanut butter? I don't have high expectations for it to be anything like real peanut butter but im trying to get an idea of what it's like. Is it anything like better n peanut butter or is it more of a whip cream texture?
Oh and for anyone who has ordered through walden farms, how many days does it usually take to ship? Im just wondering because it didn't tell me when im suppose to get it on my receipt or anything, and im pretty anxious haha.
Thanks in advance if anyone replies :D!
I wouldn't recommend any of their products. For one, it's not even food, it's a bunch of chemicals and artificial flavourings slathered together. And their products have an unpleasant aftertaste.
Haven't tried it personally, but I've heard it's nasty.

So true. REAL FOOD has calories - food was made to nourish and sustain us, not simply to try to satisfy a certain "craving" or taste. You couldn't sustain life without nutrients and calories, and obviouly Walden Farms' products contain neither.
Plus, they taste like crap - don't waste your money. Just buy a natural PB or make your own in a food processor.
Now, I don't have an issue with the fact that its all chemicals. My problem is that Walden Farms products tend to TASTE like chemicals.

I agree. Their salad dressings taste like absolute sh**. When I first tried them first thing I said was "It tastes like a bunch of chemicals!" Haha. Yeah, after trying their salad dressings I have no desire or hope for their other products.
Sounds like noone tryed it :/. Blahh, i already ordered it yesterday, i guess it was a big waste of money.
Well for my experience with Walden Farms was somewhat mixed, I HATED 90% of their salad dressings (The blue cheese and Italian is ok) and the caramel dip made me want to puke (sorry to be graphic) but the pancake syrup, strawberry pancake syrup and chocolate syrup, were suprisingly good and I really enjoy them
I was debating on trying the PB but scared to after the caramel dip incident, can you let me know when you get it and try it out, im dying to know if its worth it.
Also the marshmellow dip was pretty foul.
I've only tried two walden farms products before - bbq sauce and chocolate syrup. I do like both and would buy again. (the bbq sauce is a godsend for me!)
However I am still hesitant to try other products.... theyre not cheap at all!

I recently purchased their calorie-free peanut butter, jelly, and syrup. I threw the first two expensive products in the trash after one bite. Only the syrup was edible. Complete waste of money, and I should have known better!!
I've purchased quite a few jars of the peanut spread - they are consistently inconsistent! One jar tastes great, the next, inedible. I have taken them up on their money-back guarantee on several!
I do enjoy the marshmallow and chocolate dips, though again - the flavor seems to vary.
I am a fan of Walden Farms. BUT... there are a few products that I hate.
- The peanut spread is disgusting.
- The mayo is just as bad.
- The chocolate and caramel dips are repulsive and chemically tasting, not to mention turns everything it touches to orange. The marshmallow dip isn't TOO bad. A little dab on some fruit does taste good.
- I personally do like the fruit spreads, however they are more liquidy in the jar, and the base is just gel. Not great at spreading over (real) peanut butter as it will separate and chunk.. but it's great on toast.
- I enjoy the BBQ sauces.
- The marinara and alfredo sauces are decent. Need to be a lil' creamier though.
- The chocolate syrup is just okay. I only use it to make chocolate milk. DO NOT use on icecream. It will crystal up and harden and the frozen chunks taste like metal.
- With the exception of bleu cheese and asian, I love ALL their salad dressings. They are the only dressings that I buy anymore.
- The pancake syrups are absolutely scrumptious, and again.. I buy no other brand.
- The ketchup is ehh. It's more like a tomato sauce than the thick rich ketchup you'd use for burgers and fries.

I agree some of the products don't taste great, but they do not contain any artificial colors or flavors. Supposedly all natural according to their website.

Hi beckkkahhhx3,
I just bought it the other day. It smells like "fresh roasted peanuts".
I only saw creamy, but i prefer chunky.
It has the consistency of body lotion and it has a very slight peanut taste, but mostly, it tastes like moisterizing lotion (I tried tasting body lotion as a kid, don't ask).
It is full of chemicals with peanut extract, which means there are *some* peanuts in the product. It is mostly comprised of cornstarch and cellulose gum.
It is marketed as calorie free (but there are trace calories, based on the ingrediant listing), gluten free, fat free, sugar free (there is sucralose instead of sucrose (table sugar).
It was $4.29 at D'Agostino and i just bought it the other day.
I saw Grape spread, Strawberry, Caramel, and Chocolate. When i looked at the ingrediants, there was no "trace" of real fruit.
I had it this morning for breakfast, and it is 12:20pm and i am not sick.
It does have an odd "body lotion" type texture and slight aftertaste (not unpleasant though).
It smells like peanut butter but it does not taste like peanut butter.
I would not call it "nasty" but the idea that a fat free product can resemble peanut butter is ridiculous.
I would not but it again.
There is a low-fat peanut butter with 85% less fat (this means that 85% of the peanuts have been removed, so we assume that there is only 15% peanuts)
I would buy that the next time.
It's called Better 'N Peanut Butter and the web site is here http://www.betternpeanutbutter.com
Good luck.

Since my favorite thing about peanut butter is the texture, I have never had the urge to try their PB (since it's not meant to mimic the texture of PB at all).
I have tried some of their salad dressing, and I love it to death. It tastes as good as (or better than) most low-fat dressings on the market.
I have a feeling you will be disappointed with your PB purchase, but don't write Walden Farms off completely because of it. They do a few things really well.
Check out "Bell Plantation's" Powdered Peanut Butter. It's only 50 calories. It's all natural, just peanuts, sugar, and salt. They press the oil out (and sell the oil separately) you mix it with 2 TBSP of water & the consistency is just like regular PB. It comes in chocolate too! Yum! Plus you still get the nutrients from the peanuts and no artificial (poisonous) sweeteners.

Yeah, I tried it and it is NASTY!!!! I'm not that picky about stuff either, most "diet" foods taste just as good to me. Not this though! I took a bite or two of it and threw the whole $6 jar out! I second the PB2 though. It's REALLY good and tastes very similar to regular PB. I add a little sweetner to it though, since it doesn't have any added sugar to it.
I concur w/ the PB2 review - the chocolate peanut butter powder is amazingly good. I bought the Walden Farms Peanut Butter today and it is absolutely disgusting. I have a VERY tolerable pallate and cannot stomach this stuff. I even tried to add Splenda to see if that would help - no dice. Stuff is going in the garbage.
i have tried PB2 and it is good but its pricey. I would stick w/ natural peanut butter versus walden farms because you dont know what they put in that stuff...
