Ok -- I know some people swear by them, but for me it was, OH MY GOD -- Ick.  So bad that I threw out both things (Chocolate dip/syrup and ranch dressing) -- by far the worst "diet" purchase I ever made, and the most expensive (given that I only used one serving of each AND I ruined the salad and whatever I was using the chocolate on...)
I have never tried any, but the hungry girl website recently reviewed the peanut spread. http://hungry-girl.com/week/weeklydetails.php ?isid=1322
I've only heard about them from Hungry Girl, but she says that the peanut butter spread is awful, and the chocolate and caramel are not worth the money. On this page is what she has to say about Walden Farms in general.
i've had the chocolate syrup and the bbq sauce. both were equally satisfying, however, neither are adequette substitutes for the real thing. i bought them with very low expectations, and i gave them both a chance and i was pleasantly surprised. instead of using them as a comparison to the real thing, i let them sort of become a whole different representation in my head.

i think they're worth it. im super stoked about the peanut butter. that comes into stores in march. i've been meaning to try the apple butter too, but i always seem to pass it in the store.

anyway good luck! i recommend their products, but keep in mind that they are definitely not the real thing :)

I've tried their stuff.......And it definitely didn't impress me.

Marshmallow dip-ughh, gross. It tasted liek a tangy yogurt of some sort and not marshmallows at all

Also Ranch & Bacon dressing- They're alright but definitely no substitute for the real thing. I'd rather have no dressing at all actually

The only remotely acceptable thing from Walden Farms is the maple syrup-everything else is a total waste of money and is so horribly chemical-tasting it could just as well peel your taste buds clean off your tongue.  >xP

I have tried several of these products, and even taking into consideration that one may need to expect a change of taste, they were absolutely awful.

Yuck.

Inedible.

I order Walden Farms products by the case, literally, every 6 weeks or so. I like the peanut spread so much that we must have 5-6 jars stacked up in the pantry. And their Caramel Dip is to die for when you drizzle it over apples. And I love love love their balsamic vinaigrette, chocolate syrup, blueberry syrup, scampi sauce, cocktail sauce, and individual serving dressing packets. I happily and joyfully enjoy multiple Walden Farms products every day.

BUT .... I've been diabetic for YEARS, and haven't been able to have "real" stuff with sugar in it for years, so I am comparing these products with other diet and/or sugarfree products and NOT with the real thing.

The alfredo sauce, however, was inexplicably disgusting.

Is their peanut spread like peanut butter? Nope. Is it like Bettern' Peanut Butter? Nope. Is it is like PB2? Nope. But it IS peanutty and it IS zero calories and it IS nice on a toasted english muffin when I've run out of calories for the day.

=^..^= MOLLY

My dad swears by their products and has lost 115 to date.  I tried their italian dressing at his house and it was acceptable.  However, I bought myself the honey mustard and ceasar (I was so excited by the prospect of ZERO calories in dressing), but they were so disgusting I dumped them out.  It wasn't necessarily the taste, but the smell, which is a huge part of taste.  Both of them smelled like old socks so much so that I had to practically hold my breath to eat the salad.  I'm afraid to buy any of their other products after that experience.

I've started to use plain balsamic vinegar with little salt/pepper instead.  The BV I use is only 5 cals a tsp.  I can deal with that.

I ordered a bunch of different stuff and haven't tried it all.. mainly because the first 2 things I tried were so gross. the BBQ sauce and the 'apple butter' stuff = horrible. The BBQ sauce was basically water with some weird spices in it, and brown coloring. The apple butter had the consistency of cold gravy-- you know, when it looks like lard and is all jiggly because it's been in the fridge. And it did not taste like either apples OR butter.. alright, maybe it tasted a little bit like that apple-ish lip gloss that was all the rage in 6th grade.

I WAS VERY SAD.

Not worth the money.  I had the Caramel dipping sauce and the first bite of apple I dipped into it tasted ok... after that it just tasted like fake sweetener mixed with rubber and it had that  funky "diet" aftertaste.  There are many better low calorie syrups.  Log Cabin, Cary's, Vermont's all make syrup that is approx. 15-20 cals for 1/4 cup and actually taste pretty legit.  It's not exactly the real stuff but it's definitely tasty and a good substitute for the huge calorie savings.  Salad dressings -- just go for the salad-spritzers.  It's real dressing but the pump controls how much you use while still covering the whole salad.  Also, I love balsalmic vinegar -- it's virtually calorie free and adds great flavor to almost anything.  I can't help you with chocolate syrup, but when I need a chocolate fix I love to have one of those vitamuffins or the Betty Crocker Mini-Delights -- they are 150 cals per dessert. Some people think they are too small, but they are the size of a personal chocolate soufle at a restaurant so I can't really understand why.  Happy Eating!
The ranch isn't to bad... But the ketchup, bbq sauce, marshmallow cream, chocolate dip are NASTY. They have a chemical like aftertaste.. it's quite horid, not worth it even though it's 0 cals.. *shudders*
thank you for all your replies!! I probably wont order these products, but maybe i will try them out if i come across them in the store. btw..does anyone know what store carries them?? i live in san francisco and I have checked a few stores and so far no one has them...but it sounds like im not at that big of a loss. lol!  Thanks again for all of your replies!

Just happens I bought the bacon ranch last Sunday.

So excited I couldn't wait for my next salad.

With much anticipation I opened the bottle doled a dollop to my waiting finger and onto my impatient tongue.

Ew!!!!

This is a far cry from anything that resembles a climactic moment.

I will try and use it as a base I bump up with my own spices to perhaps dip baked sweet potato fries in, but will not buy it again.

Sarabeth,

I have found some of their products at Albertsons (in the diabetic area) and Sprouts Markets.

I actually enjoy the caramel dip, chocolate dip and sauce and especially the balsamic dressing. The salad dressing is awesome. Now I tried a few other of their products and gagged, but that balsamic stuff rocks.

I think if you go into a Walden Farms experience expecting that it will be just like the real stuff, you will be disgusted but going into it w/ an open mind, you might be pleasantly surprised.

Just sayin',

Susie Wink

Well-said, Susie!

I actually love the marshmallow dip, and the caramel dip and chocolate sauce (on something) I enjoy.   The chocolate dip - that was one I couldn't handle, but that's just my taste!

In NC, you can find them at most Food Lions....

I find Walden Farms products at Henry's...that's in the Los Angeles area and I thought it might answer the question of the San Fransisco inquiry. I've noticed that a lot of people, in response to you, tried it once and said, no way. I can remember I was a bit disappointed on my first taste. However, if you can't eat sugar and you need a low calorie/low carb diet to maintain the size 8 you so dearly love to be, before long it starts tasting pretty good. I can't tell you about the peanut butter, as I was just placing my first order when I noticed your note in the google list. I can tell you I use the chocolate and maple syrup, and several of the salad dressings all the time. I actually used the Balsamic dressing on a spinach/fat free feta salad for my husband and he bragged on it (not even guessing it was diet). The blue cheese dressing is my favorite. The maple syrup is good on a plain baked sweet potato. A touch of chocolate syrup is good on strawberries. And just a sip of the chocolate syrup straight satisfies cravings and reminds me of a liquer cordial.  I've been using the products for at least a couple of years.

I have the chocolate dipping sauce and found it to be quite good
For ZERO calories, Walden Farms is hard to beat.  I LOVE the chocolate syrup and add it to milk, water, ice for a wonderful chocolate shake in blender.  I add the marshmallow dip to thicken.  Adding to 1/2 milk, 1/2 water, and heating up in micorwave, makes a nice hot cholocate.  Putting a dollap of the marshmallow dip on top adds a nice touch!

The peanut butter stuff is awful......I use the honey dijon dressing for salads; again for ZERO calories, its wonderful!

The pancake syrup is good on baked squash.....

I've lost 50 lbs since August by using these type of products.....so I'm always looking for ZERO calorie items that add taste without calories!
