Walmart version of Fiber One Granola Bars - review
So I saw last week Walmart has jumped on the bandwagon and made their version of the Fiber One Granola bars. Same flavors and everything. They have the exact same fiber, calorie and fat counts.
They were about 75 cents cheaper for the 5 pack box, so I figured what the heck.
I've tried the chocolate and the oat & peanut butter. They're pretty good. Not quite as great as Fiber One, but when you're on a budget like I am, they'll do.

Thanks! I saw those too and was semi cautious, only because I know sometimes they aren't the same serving size, caloric intake, sugar content, etc. I might have to try them out :-)
what are the serving size, caloric intake, sugar content etc for these bars???
I saw some Kroger knock offs of fiber one bars like "active lifestyle" or something, but they had 10 more calories per bar. Somehow, that didn't work for me.
I know if you buy a 10 pack box, they're cheaper. I bought a box of 10 bars at a Krogers for 5 dollars. Target also has cheaper "bonus" 10 count packed fiber one bars.
mmm. I have one of them in my glovebox for outting emergencies.

For the Oat & peanut butter, serving size one bar (40 grams - almost 2x the size of a Quaker Granola bar)
150 cal 4.5 g fat (1.5 sat) 29g carbs 9g fiber 10g sugar 3g protein
Calories the same as F.1; Total fat the same, (but .5 sat fat LESS!); 1 gram more carbs than F.1; 1 gram more sugar than F.1
my Walmart sometimes has the F.1 10 packs for I believe just under $5, but they don't carry it consistently. These knock offs were $2.00 even for the 5 pack, so still a little cheaper. BUT, if they have the 10 pack, I would probably go ahead and spend the extra on the F.1.
My fiber one bars are 140 calories...
Yeah my Fiber Ones are 140 also ... would try these substitutes if there were a Walmart near me ... but there isn't.
I should have noted that the Oat & PB bars are the only ones that have 150 cal in BOTH the F1 & Walmart. All the other flavors are 140, both F1 & Walmart. I guess the PB and peanuts make them higher cal.

So funny that I read this tonight. At lunch today I had a Fiber One apple and oats (never seen these before this week, only 130 cal). My friend mentioned to me that she saw the knock offs at Target and investigate the nutritional content and that it was almost identicle. She said that they were $2 something for the box, almost a dollar cheaper than the real thing. She didn't try them but she knows how much I love Fiber One. I think I will go get some when I run out of this box. I am just cautious because I used to be addicted to the Chewy Quaker Oats granola bars and then I tried the knock off and they didn't have any similar taste. Any way thanks for the tip.
I just discovered these bars, b/c Target has them on sale for $2.50 a box, so I tried 4 flavors...my favorite is definitely the oats and caramel.
However I am concerned that these are too high in sugar...what do you guys think? They also contain HFCS, and I saw this ingredient: high maltose corn syrup - is it bad like HFCS?
So I think I'll save these bars for "occasion" treats, and stick to something healthier for my everyday breakfast bar, like Kashi. Bummer, cause they are really tasty!

I tried Wal-Mart's "Krispy Flakes with Almonds" cereal. It's actually really good, and tastes almost like Honey Bunches of Oats. It's an interesting cereal though: In the whole box, there were 3 almond slices. They were so scarce, that every time I came across one, I took note of it, and there were exactly 3! Now I'm not sure why I thought it was so worth mentioning...
Anyways, so Fiber One bars......

I don't mind - I like hearing about other versions of foods. Honey Bunches is my fav cereal, so it's good hear about WM's version. Right now I'm eating the Malt O Meal knock-off, which is just as good.
moscovite82 - what were the nutritional stats for the walmart cereal??? I havent been to walmart in a long time, but I will check out the food section next time I'm there!!!

Calories: 120
Fat: 2g
Sodium: 200mg
Carbs: 24g
Fiber: 1g
Sugar: 5g
Protein: 2g
it does contain high fructose corn syrup though, which everyone is so terrified of... but it comes after salt in the ingredients list, which means there's less than 200mg (1/16 of a teaspoon) per serving

I am addicted to the Malt o Meal knock off of that stuff. Into ziploc baggies it goes and I have a lovely snack. Yum! When I briefly compared brands, they were nearly identical. I also love their Stawberry Spooners that are like mini wheats. Cereal = love.
