I want to install a stripper pole in my house.

I need everyone to post about how this would be such an awesome idea to convince my husband to do it.  I'm thinking in the living room would be great, because it's such a big and open space.  It'd be a perfect thing to have near the bar.

Pleeeeeeeeeeease?  Does anyone have one!?  Is it as awesome as it sounds?

I think it's an awesome idea! Get one! Fun, Sexy and a work out too! I know an ex-stripper who started competing in powerlifting meets because her upper body was incredibly strong from the pole and no, she wasn't bulky at all.

I'd get one myself, but don't know how I'd explain it to my kid!

I don't have one in my house but I have worked on them in the past. They are fun and it can be fun challenging yourself to do things like get upside down on them.

(Though in general it seemed the men don't care much about pole work, they tip floorwork. But working girls amuse themselves that way anyhow.)

I wish I had the space for one.....

It's great exercise

It'll keep you fit

Help with your diet

and building muscle tone,

will give you something to do when there's nothing on except Eastenders,

will give you better power of persuassion (darling, can you clean the living room while me and my best girlfriend practice our pole dancing duet?)

is a great excuse to buy new "outfits"..........

and shoes.........

I'd totally get one if I had a basement, but I'm not going to put a pole in the middle of my house for all to see.  Grandma might wonder what's up with that when she comes over.

I hear rumors that my boss has one in his basement.

I should get one for my spare room!! Such a good idea. I'm already going to be in trouble for brining home a piano tonight might as well get a pole too!
It sounds like a great way to make a little extra money.

Finally someone talkin sense!

If anyone is seriously interested in purchasing a pole, feel free to message me and I can give you some contact information.  One of my friends does "Passion Parties," and she can have them shipped to you directly from their supplier.

And they are a LOT of fun :)
There are pole dancing classes you can take and dvd's for those less inclined to attend a class. Lol  I wouldn't want one in my living room. I'm pretty tradional as is my family setup. My household is bit more traditional in style too. It would be out of place.I think it would be a better placed addition to the bedroom. That makes it less on ' display. ' Plus, you can close off that room so everyone isn't clearly aware of it. I'm a touch more private in that regard. Just because it's not for my living room doesn't mean it's not for yours. Lol

It's fun though. =-P Another thing you might be interested in is strip tease classes/dvd's. It's a very kewl thing for girl pal's to get together and learn. Good times! Everyone laughs at everyone since you look like a complete idiots at the beginning. Unless you have natural skills.... that is. It's funny and a whole lot of fun. TRY it.

Seems like a great idea. Are you planning on installing it though or is it simply a put up take down? A removable one would be ideal that way no one has to wonder what you do in your spare time. My girlfriend is looking in to getting one for when the weather sucks and she can't ride horses. I'd say go for it! As a man I'd be saying "Hell Yeah!" (and have been to my girl) instead of wanting a justified reason. Not only will you get a great workout, lose weight, and probably feel sexier, your husband gets free shows from the woman who should be his biggest turn on.

I think it's an awesome idea!  I've always wanted one, actually because they look like so much fun!  Why wouldn't he want you to get one?  There's really no reason NOT to get one, especially since there are removable ones out there, I believe.  It sounds like a win-win situation to me! :-)

I know, Allydan! It's super fun! annnd funny. Plus, it can make you feel sexy with some practice just like mjb was saying above. You don't actually need your husbands permission. Do you? It could always be a surprise gift. xD For him! btw:They have removable ones.

Is it ok to use the pole without wearing those shoes?

I think stripper poles are awesome, but wanted to throw in a few words of caution.  One of my friends broke her collar bone last year using one of the moveable poles when it came loose.  Make sure you get one that has mounting plates that you bolt to the floor.  They're a lot more stable.  Also, you can get mats (like gym mats) that you put around the bottom when you're still learning.  They'll save you a lot of bruises.  Have fun!

Why not?  But I'd caution against putting it in the living room.  A spare room or the bedroom might be a better place.  That way you don't have to explain it to company who stops by unexpectedly.  But, by all means, GO FOR IT!  What's the worst it can do?  Spice up your love life?  Give you a good workout?  Make you feel sexy?  Make all your friend's husband's jealous?

I wouldn't use a removable one.  I want this thing bolted to the ceiling and the floor.  Our lessors are very lenient, and we figured an awesome disguise for it would be to shove it behind the bar, then just move the bar out of the way when we want to use it.

I don't mind it being in my living room.  My friends and family know the stuff I'm in to.  I'd be a little worried about what Children's Services think if they ever had to come to my house for any reason, but I could easily remove it.

I found a few websites on DIY stripper poles.  I'm thinking I'll have to go with that since we have such high ceilings, a standard one that ships to your house is too short.

MY bf thinks its a good idea we are getting one..

i want one now!! just checked out lessons in london and im bookin myself in lol!!

I'd love to learn how to use one, but my kids already know I'm a freak, I don't want to make it worse. Maybe if we had a basement or a finished attic.....

Love the idea. I want one but don't have a permanent home really since I'm in uni half the time and mum wouldn't let me have a permanent one at home. My friend has a removable one and it's pretty good and sturdy if put up right but I'd be worried about damaging the ceiling in my house. I've only seen her use it in bars etc for lessons.
