So. What do YOU want to do with your life?
...Just being conversational =)
What do you want to do when you get out of high school or college? I'm a sophomore now and I'm starting to think about the colleges and career I want to pursuit.
I want to go to a good college that's far from where I live. My top college choices include UPenn, Harvard, University of Virginia, and Ithaca. I really want to go into foreign communications and learn either Japanese or Mandarin Chinese, if not a European language that's not very common in the U.S. (i.e. Dutch, Norweigen, Finnish, etc.).
I wouldn't mind getting a novel published either...
I'd love to turn my passion for writing into a career, but I'd be content with it remaining a hobby. What I want to do the most is be a musician, and I think that whether or not I ever get a major record deal or anything like that music will ALWAYS be a huge part of my life. I've also thought about becoming a nutritionist/therapist who specializes in eating disorders.. I'd be like a one-stop shop! [It was always a pain for me to jump from appointment to appointment with dieticians, nutritionists, sports nutritionists, and therapists.] I'd also love to be a go-go dancer for a '60s dance club :D
Hmm. No idea in the way of colleges, although Princeton is my dream. ^^ I really want to do something in the way of biology, astronomy, or paleontology, but lately I've been interested in becoming a missionary. It seems like the only thing good to do with my life: either be a soccer mom and whine over gas prices like everyone else, or become extraordinary and work for the Lord. :) Corny, I know, but it's how I feel.
Edited to add: Oh, and I want to adopt a baby from a third-world country. I would right now...but unfortunately I'm not old enough. :)
As of yet, I am still pretty undecided. I have two favourite subjects - Maths and History. From pretty opposite ranges of the spectrum, I know!!!! I am thinking something along the Maths/Business line or the History side of things. However, I don't really know of many careers which have roots in History, other than archaeology, which I know would not be my thing.
I would advise anyone who is still undecided to check out this website. You will have to create an account, but it's free and simple to do. It gives you a list of suitable careers, and I actually found it really accurate! My first reccommendation was acturial mathematics, something I would be interested in. It also advised all different branches of law, and teaching maths. I can really see myself working in that field when I'm older. Give the site a try!!!!

I want to study medicine. I want to go to Oxford university and live in Asia for a while.. I don't know about the rest..
in college i def dont want to play tennis bc ill be focused totally on school but intermural sounds nice and not too intense.. and ill probably major in biology in a pre med/dent track at OSU.. i plan to go there *cough*legacybrat*cought* ..i guess if i end up being a dentist, i will have a career already set up for me by my uncle and i think he would want me to buy the practice as well, which is def not a bad thing. and if im a doctor, it will probably mean i gave into everyone else in the family lol. i would probably want to specialize in sports medicine. maybe follow a team around :D although i know itd be hard work..
but as for now, im livin it up and loving life! haha summerrr :)
2 more years left in my undergrad biz education.
i want to be an ibanker at a bulge bracket and work 120 hours a week and not have time for a personal life.
I've been rather undecided about what I want to do. On the one hand I really want to study business (finance, economics, accounting) and/or communications (marketing). On the other hand, I’d really like to go into psychology and help people.
i want to be a sex therapist. needa talk to my counselor because i'm not so sure what i need to change my major to, but i think it's psychology with emphasis on human sexuality.

I HIGHLY recommend Ithaca College. IC was the first school I went to, and so far I think they've had the highest standards and best professors yet. I left because living in such a small city was driving me crazy, but if you like doing outdoors-y things then it will be great for you.
I know for sure that I'd like to spend my life making a living in the music industry. I've been booking and promoting shows since 16. For two years I co-hosted a show on a community radio station. I started a booking agency when I was 17 and have since booked a few regional and east coast tours for bands that I adore. A couple of which I went on.
Today I am working towards a "music industry" degree through Harrisburg Area Community College. Next I am hoping to transfer into a somewhat prestigious university to get a bachelors in either "music business", "music management", or something else along those lines.
All the classes I've taken regarding law and music business law have been extremely intriguing. I spend much of my free time reading news articles and law school publications regarding intellectual property law. I particularly enjoy contract and copyright law, and am therefore seriously considering pursuing a career as an entertainment lawyer.
We'll see how it goes.

I am graduating college in May. I would like to find a job working in music. My dream job is to be a music supervisor for film, tv, or advertising. I am trying to avoid working in a cubicle for as long as possible and also open up my own business in the future. Right now I'm just trying to figure out if I should get my masters. Suggestions?
Which school are you going to, and what degree are you working on? Also, are you in the US or somewhere else in the world?
I enjoy the arts, but being a painter doesn't really earn you a living, so I'm planning to go into a career that's nice and relaxing and, at the same time, can reel in enough money for a nice condo, nice car, and weekly shopping trips. SO, I'm going into pharmacy :) If that fails, I'll probably be a teacher or a nurse.
I'm planning to go to a university in the city where I live. I don't mind commuting and don't want to have my parents fork over extra money for residency fees just so I can have an "on campus experience". Oh, and I don't want their greasy cafeteria foods either.
