I want to loose weight but I've been told to gain it.
I've been on off dieting for about to years, and have done really well in the last 2 weeks and got down to 103lbs (I'm 5ft4) I was really pleased with myself but my friends didn't feel the same way. All of them have told me to stop losing weight and some have even told me to gain it! The thought of eating more that I already do makes me feel sick, I want to loose 5 more lbs but I've been told that this couold be dangerous. I know that I'm techincally udnerweight (BMI of 17.7) but I want to get down to 7stone really badly.
My mate made me see the nurse who weighed me weekly for a month but then said I was okay but I know that she okay though that cos I drank water and worse jewelery when she weighed me. And recently I've found myself throwing up if I eat too much.
I don't want to scare my friends or get ill but I REALLY want to losoe that 5 lbs...
What should I do?
xxx
...Why?
cos then I think I'll be happy with how I look. I hate the bulges on my stomache and thighs and I have such a huge ass. I think that If I loose 5lbs then that'll all be gone...
If you actually have bulges everywhere at such a low weight, you're skinny-fat. If you diet you're just going to look like a saggy bag of bones.
Try weight training and consuming a calorie surplus to gain muscle and shape.
honey i think you need to look at your attitude towards food and weight. it sounds to me like you might just have an eating disorder. why dont you talk to a doctor about it? you will never be happy with your weight if 103 is too fat. trust me on this one, you dont wanna go there.
If you aren't happy now, you won't be happy at an even lower weight. Losing five pounds won't get rid of the bulges and it certainly won't get rid of the underlying reason that you want to deprive your body of enough food. I seriously doubt you have bulges, but why not try doing some weight training and pilates. Gaining weight in muscle will actually make you look leaner. If you can't see that you don't need to lose weight, you should go talk to a counselor at school about your eating disorder, which is exactly what it sounds like.
Bre makes the best point. I am not in a position to pass judgement, but 5lbs won't make you happier. It will instead deepen the underlying reason, as Bre mentioned above, that you want to deprive. My advice is don't. But I can already tell your going to get a lot of people telling you the same thing on here. Its really not worth it.
Is jump roping as good an exercise as running?
In terms of calorie burning, moderate jumping is about equal to running a 10-minute mile, although calorie burning is always a function of time... Read more
