so its been a little while... 164 is the new weight!!

Ooh. I'd like to get in on this, but i'm warning you, I can't dance. :]

I'm 17, 5'4, 165 ish. This is the heaviest i've ever been, and i gained it fast. I lost about 40 pounds last spring and I was down to 117. I don't want to get that skinny again because I was weak.

I'm looking to get down to 135 by Prom, and my next PFT...which are in May. Haha.

I've looked at all the other groups on CC and they look like fun. I think this is a good idea. :]

cool!! we have reallly similar stats and our goal deadline is exactly the same although im not in h.s anymore. we can totally help each other out. my goal is also just the about the same as yours!!

Sounds Good!

And we even have the same name. Thats crazy.

:]

lol. yeah it is a bit crazy huh?

this morning my weight was 163.6. so as of now im hitting my targets each week :)

just bought a yoga mat and some dvds- cardio pilates is one of them. a total butt kicker for sure!!

Great job! Doesn't it feel so great when you meet the goal you set for yourself? :]

Ooh, yoga is always so fun. But deceptively intense. Haha. Never done pilates, tell me how it is.

I'm in the states travelling right now, but i'm trying to make as best of choices as I can.

The people i'm staying with don't have a scale so I'll weigh myself at thegym tmrw and tell you then. :]

Okay, guys....I need your help! I've been eating 1200-1300 calories a day (mainly protein, veggies, some carbs, etc) and exercising at least 3-4 times a week for 30 minutes to an hour and my scale hasn't budget one single pound in WEEKS. I wouldn't be so disheartened if I could see or even feel a difference, but unfortunately I can't. This is the healthiest I have ever eaten and most I have ever exercised consistently in my entire adult life and I've only lost 2 pounds in the past month that I've been doing this. Can anyone offer any advice? I'm losing steam fast....

Eat more!

http://www.bcm.edu/cnrc/bodycomp/bmiz2.html Use this to figure out your BMR and eat accordingly.

Also, healthy weight loss is a slow and steady process. Maybe focus on how much better you feel, or the muscle you are gaining.

Don't lose steam yet. Persistance may produce some exceptionally positive results.

eat more. figure out what youre burning excersising and raise youre caloric intake as needed- youre eating what a sedentary person eats. you are moderately active.

I have exactly exactly the same problem!!! :(

I lost 2 kgs in the beginning, tht's about 4.42 lbs. and now the scale is stuck!! I'm eating roughly 1200-1500 calories and I go for brisk walks in the evening otherwise my lifestyle is pretty sedentary. I dont think i'm eating less, could i be eating too much?  Shall I keep the calories the same and add a little more exercise? i dont know whyyyyyyyyy im not losing weight :( I'm eating the right foods n all.  I dont want to give up but I dont feel motivated if the scale doesnt budge!

aamnasultan- possibly... or you might just need to spice up the excersise- switch it up a bit. dont eat lower than 1200. whats your weigh and stats? you could be already at a healthy weight and just losing slow- that ususlly happens if you are already within the right weight range for your height/age/body type.

multiply youre goal weight by 12 and eat that its a pretty rough estimate and it should be on par if youre goal weight is a reasonable one. obv. if youre under 5'0 its not very accurate though- instead of walking try spurts of jogging or walking with weights...

Try eating the minimum for teens, 1500 for females and 1800 for males. if you're not losing on this then increase your physicaly activity. Simply put, you're most likely going to wind up malnourished if you're eating less than this at your age. So, I'd risk slower weight loss over declining health.

I'm 187 lbs/ 27 years/ female/ height 5'5'. My BMI says I'm obese and Calorie Count suggests an intake of 1200 calories a day. I have been keeping up with it most days but to be honest sometimes it goes to 1300 or 1400 too. So in anormal week I'm eating anything between 1200-1500. So, I'm definitely not eating less. You're probably right. I need to up my exercise a bit.

My goal weight is 112 lbs. I want to achieve this in roughly one and a half year. According to your estimate calculation, 112 x 12 = 1344. I should probably try to keep the calories down to 1200-1300, not let it go above 1350 and slightly up the exercise?

Thanks for your suggestions! :)

it depends on how much you are working out. eating 1200 is the bare minimum- which could stall out your metabolism esp. when youre adding excersise to the equation. 1344 would be for sedentary days where youre not doing too much just daily things. id probably up it by 100-200 cals. when working out- and vary the excersises up a bit. you burn more calories the more you weigh-  and you wont feel as hungry by upping. and it will keep your metabolism blazing- thats the most crucial in weight loss-

Hey Guys i am 5'4 and weigh 163 right now i think i try not to step on the scale only like once a week.. I am 23 yr old.. and I wanna Be 120 is ideal but id be happy at 130.. I wanna try to at least lose 25 by christmas... I am kinda sorta couting calories and am not very active i walk my dog every night for bout an hour.. sometimes jog with her.. But other than that i dont exceercise i used to but just dont have much time to with a new puppy and all.. I eat....

Breakfast- Special k cereal

snack- Yogurt

Lunch- apple

Dinner- either Special K Cereal or Salmon with baked potato and veggies..

Granted i swich things up a little but i try to stay low on calories since i dont get much encercising in and at end of day i am full??

Do you think i will lose 25 by christmas..

Hey Sugarfairy,

Got the same exact stats as you. There are nine weeks until Christmas. The recommended lowest low for women is 1200cals and you arent eating enough trust me because that amount is what your body needs to function on a cellular level, so brain, immune system, nerves etc.. So the proper info can be sent to your body to burn the excess. No matter how full you feel, your body will not break down fat. You feel full but it feels starved and as a result it holds on to all it can hold on it. But when you give it a minimum of 1200cals it lets go of some weight. Since you arent very active try at least that. Since our stats are the same you should be burning 1790 just going about all day. So 1200 a day leaves you with a 700+ deficit(with about 100calories from your walk included).

So in a week you should loose 1.4pounds (If you wanna loose more you have to up the exercise to get you to a 2pound/week loss)

Nine weeks left till Christmas so 12.6 pounds lost that you will definitely not gain unless you overeat 44100calories. But if you keep eating as you are you will loose fast in the begining then your body will slow down and then you will gain all and some more. This is coming straight from experience. Its just better to loose slow and sure than to crash because we all know we didnt get to our current weights overnight. So we have to be patient with the weightloss as well.

Please fell free to keep the questions coming we are all here for each other.

Hope this helps!!!

down another- 162 Sealed

Congrats Gurl!!!!!!!!!! Keep it up

thanks im trying!! i totally have to do it. if i keep going ill be right where i want to be come May!

How are you doing? well i hope!!

its only been 5 days and ive lost another pound. amazing what changing up your workouts does. 161 YAYAY!!
