Want to lose 20lbs by april

Quote  |  Reply

Hi all, my name is Dece. I have been overweight all my life (thanks genes!). About a year and a half ago I was lonely and wanted to feel good about myself. So my motivation was to exercise and get healthy so I could be whole before I found a man. Well, I did well for a couple months...I lost about 20-30 lbs, but then I met someone and stopped trying. I have gained back those 20 lbs over the past 6 months and feel gross. I m trying to find the right motivation for me, until then i am just kind of blindly dieting and randomly exersicing. I am watching my calories.

I want to lose 20lbs by April for myself and my confidence. Until I find my motivation I need peer motivation to kind of keep me going...so, I am joining this group!

Hi Dece,

I can totally sympathise with all you are saying - sounds like me really!! I think you have to be in the total right frame of mind to lose weight otherwise dedication never lasts - hopefully I am in that frame of mind now!

I would like to lose 201bs by April too - had a great start last week and lost 6lbs - in the first week. it always get harder after week 1 though i find. I have a big family party in April - and even though I am sure I will still be single, I want to be slim & single!

Good luck with your diet, hope we both make it by April

My date is April 16 to loose my 25 pounds. I'm down 9 pounds so far. YES it's very hard!! I take very day or minute at a time. Sometime I'll have a glass of water or take a bath to distract me. I sure wish  the weather was warmer. That has always helped me in the past. It's easy for me to loose the weight...start weight 163 ..finish ...137..MY BIG problem is to keep it off!!! This time I plan on keeping up with my exercises and help from others.

so am i, i wanna lose 20lbs , i am currently 135lbs wanna be 120 we should make it sort of a competition, afterall competition works everytime.

I would love to be accountable. I recently was cast as Millie in the show Thoroughly Modern Millie and really want to be my best when we open the show in April. I'm currently 143 and would love to be around 128-130 when we open. Why don't we have weekly weigh ins to keep each other accountable.

9lbs lost so far! I have been staying under my calories in a healthy way and started exercising.

hey all, i have lost 10lbs so far - its coming off nicely!!! but i do think i am not eating enough - so dunno if its gonna work out in the long term. I am determined though!! I am eating more fruit and veg!!  April here we come!!

Hey all, sounds like you all are doing a great job!  I have always been between 130 and 120, but I have lost a good 5 lbs since i stopped eating animal products(meat, milk and ice cream are easy, but CHEESE, oh how i miss you!)  So i am now at 118, i want to be at 105 (I am 5'0) for my vaca and graduation on April 6th.

Any tips on how to not cave when everyone around you is beautiful and eats whatever the hell they want, especially pizza.  Whenever I tell them of my goal, they go "you are fine the way you are."  I appreciate their compliment, and don't disagree w/ them, but I want definition!  Sorry, I am frustrated.

hah , i wish happy weight loss to you all .

but myself , is going on a cruise in april and wants to loose a few extra pounds : )

hey there folks!!

I'm 20 lbs away from my goal weight of 150lbs.  I was 231.4lbs in August and have lost 60lbs in 6.5 months... but it's getting harder to lose as I near my goal.  So, I thought this group might help me stay motivated and on track.  I'm a tall girl - 5'10" and will be turning 33 on April 20.  That is D-Day for me... my 33rd birthday.

Similarly, I have another goal.  One week following my birthday is an annual running race in my town.  I am training to do the 5k - but am thinking I might be able to do the 10k.

I exercise every day (P90X, running, elliptical, walking, swimming, squash, bike, rowing machine) and watch my calories.  I generally have one 'cheat day' which is ok, because it doesn't STOP my weight loss, just slows it down a little.  But, I went for months with NO cheating and pretty much lost it for a week.  UGH.  So, to keep my sanity - and to stay motivated to exercise every day - I cheat once per week.

CC has really helped me control portions, stay on top of keeping my protein, fat and carbs balanced and making sure I log my weight.  I love how it graphs your weight loss (and gain!!!).  It's a tool I use every single day - cc is keeping me on top of things for sure... but, my weight loss is slowing down.

Could we do a weigh-in each week?  Say on a Thursday?  How does tomorrow sound?

Ok, I'm going to start the weigh-in challenge.... who's with me?

Goal weight by April 20 - 150lbs

February 12 - 170.0lbs
