So...if i want to lose 2 lbs a week
To lose 1 lb a week i must have a deficit of 3500 cal. So to lose 2 lbs a week i have to double that right? But how would that be possible? I am already working out about 5 days a week and have about 500 cal. deficit per day..so how do those that lose 2 lbs or more a week do it? Are you working out ALL the time? I don't get it....it does say safely i can lose 1-2 lbs a week. But 1 lb a week goes soooo slow, how i can lose 2 lbs safetly?
Holy hell?! I think somewhere we must be confused. I lost 1.5 to 2 pounds a week on a 500-700 calorie a day deficit. I think that must be 3500 a week which would be 500 calories a day. So you'd aim for the largest safe deficit of 1000 calories a day. Easy with lots of exercise. No exercise? I think 500-700 is more reasonable.
while your math is right, safe weight loss is up to 1% per week, so unless you're 200+ pounds, 2 pounds a week is shooting a little high. the smaller and fitter you get, the slower weight loss will be. don't be in a rush; the slower it comes off, the less likely it is to go back on.
I would LOVE to lose 2 lbs a week. The deficit numbers are a guideline. They don't always pan out. You can bust your tail end with exercise, eat correctly and drink gallons of water and still the scale don't move fast enough for some of us. Some weeks I'm lucky and do get the two pound loss. Sometimes it takes 2 weeks to lose 2 lbs. I wish you all the luck in the weight loss world, but don't look for a guarantee for weight loss. It will only discourage your efforts which could lead to a "what's the point?" attitude. One day at a time.![]()
i keep hearing about 300 deficit...what does that mean? haha sorry im new...

Well im just saying, i mean some weeks i only do 3-4x a day exercise. 500-7-- a day deficit is a lot, yesterday i only had like 50 cal deficit, i ate like 1650 calories and i burned 1700. And the day before that i had a 900 cal deficit but not on pupose, i just fell asleep early and forgot to eat. It's different everyday, i was just wondering tho cause its confusing

I see...i get what you're saying about not to look for a guarantee in weight loss. I did that before when i first joined this and did lose weight but not correctly and ended up gaining some back and more and just gave up. Now i am doing it again but the right way and trying to eat the right amount of calories for me. I was just wondering how ppl that lose 2 lbs or more a week do it..i don't want to lose that much weight too quick but i was just wondering if it takes a 3500 deficit in one week then how is that possible for them? I already do drinks lots of water, i carry it around with me, its all i drink and it has helped so much!

Hey, i didnt know either when i first joined, i was so confused and still am sometimes lol Deficit is when you eat less calories than you burn and get that amount, thats the deficit. So like if you burn 1700 calories a day and ate 1300 that day then you have a 400 calorie deficit. If you also work out and burn 200 calories on that day then you have a 600 cal. deficit
ooooooooooooh ok so if my target cal intake is 1200 and my burn meter is supposed to be like 1650 then that means I have a 450 deficit? and if i eat wayyyyyyyyyy too much and my caloric intake increased too fast and my deficit gets lowered then i should technically slow down on the eating until it catches up again right? because in time the burn meter will catch up, is what I'm getting from the MY ACCOUNT page.... okkkk cool thank you =)
Losing weight does have it's cons. The more you lose the slower your weight loss, the less you can eat to maintain that weight and if you gain 3 pounds it definately shows! :) HUGE tradeoff to being thinner. hahaha
