Why do you want to lose weight by Nov?
Hi! I just signed up today and was curious as to why people have set their goal for November? Is it for before holiday rush (when all the rich naughty foods come into play)?
Feel free to post what has inspired you to get healthy, and help inspire others!
My personal story is a bit sad, but important. My father passed away two months ago. He was only 59, and although cancer of the thymus was the main reason, the fact that he had adult diabetes, coronary heart disease, and high cholesterol were all contributing factors. It took only 1 month (4 weeks!) from noticeable signs of cancer, to diagnosis, and then death for him to leave my life- and it has scared the **** out of me.
I have since made a dedication to myself to work at becoming a healthy individual. I am engaged, with marriage and children dangling over my head, and I worry about the future. There is no way my children are going to grow up without me. I want to see them take their first steps, go to prom, be in the first row when they graduate or get married. I want to live a long life with my future husband, and be healthy enough to travel the world- walk the cobblestone streets of Rome, swim in the oceans of Jamaica, ect.
So due to family history, and a glimmering hope for the future, I decided that being in shape by Nov is my new #1.
my 2nd wedding anniv is on Nov 4 and my b-day on Dec 5
although I didn't choose Nov as "deadline". the system told me I'd be reaching my goal by end of Nov :) lol i doubt though but we'll see
I'm hovering around 59 kg and want to get to 54 kg

wow, thats traumatic that your father passed away so quickly! And its great your setting some pretty healthy goals despite losing him.
I'm seperating active duty air force in november and when I come home and see my family I want them to be amazed and proud of me! I haven't been at a healthy weight since I was like 13 (not counting the short time after I had graduated bootcamp. I totally gained MORE weight back than before I joined the military) and hopefully inspire my dad to get his motivation to lose that belly of his that is damaging his lower back constantly.
I'm sorry to hear about your father passing. My family history is similar, my father is 6'5 and the size of a lumberjack! It has always been in the back of my head to stay fit for life longevity. I understand your motivation and aspire to your dedication.
November is a goal of mine because it signifies my target weight at a healthy loss rate. If I keep to my calorie/work out plan, and according to the goals set my caloriecount, I should loose my 11 lbs by November! (:
I'm a Women's rowing alum so keeping fit is important to me, I am in the transition phase from working out 2 hours a day to working at a dream job (desk job! ahh!) for 8 hours. So the balance and motivation to wake up early to work out is a must.
If anyone is interested in emailing each other about their daily log or wants to talk/vent about food/weight, I'm more that happy to talk!

Healthy, I'm sorry to hear about your father. Mine passed at the young age of 40 (about 1 month shy of his 41st bday) on mother's day of 1997. Like habitantcox, my papa was about 6ft2 and definitely a lumberjack (big italian, looked like he should have been a chef or a mack truck and couldn't decide, lmao!). So I know all about the perils of weight loss and losing loved ones. :/
BUT, the reason I am setting the goal of November is because I haven't reached my goal and I've been 10lbs away from my goal since I started here in Mar 2008. I have a wedding in October to go to (although I'm not making my goal for that; I will be the thinnest there no matter what anyways, lol), and I have always wanted to be "bikini clad" in the summers.
Goals to attain by my 25th bday:
133 by November
129 by summer
Get lasik for my eyes
Finish up my teeth (braces :D)
Get my skin lasered/fix my old stretch marks
Look into laser hair removal
Make an appt for breast augmentation consultation

Hey Everyone,
I want to loose because Im planning a trip this winter to Europe. Since its going to be the back packing kind I feel like I need to be in better shape. It will be a three month trip spanning from England, Scottland, France and Italy. I also want to look awesome in the many pictures I know will happen so then I can look back on them with joy instead of the cringe I feel now when I see pics. Plus giving me a deadline helps me to actually do something. My goal is 128lbs but I wouldnt mind going a little futher to 125lbs. I am 5'4" and curently 132lbs and at a plateau. My boyfriend is very supportive as long as I dont get "too skinny". (<- whatever that means...haha). Im just looking for more motivation and support. The other females around me are stuck in a lump and dont understand why I want to loose... Its odd.

My 25th birthday is Nov. 1. I would love to weigh then what I weighed through high school - 150 (I'm 5'5") I only have 8 lbs to go, so I think I'll make it!
On my birthday I'm buying an excercize bike. Besides, this way I might make it through the holiday season without gaining, or at least not gaining much.
I've been very dedicated at times and very lax at times since I started CC last feb and I recently bought my first pair of 7 jeans since high school which ignited my motivation again to look killer in those jeans:-) I'm 20, 5'5 currently 140 (started at 160) and want to get down to 125-130 which I can safely do by mid November as long as I can stay dedicated (deficit of 700 cals a day with exercising). I feel like I can do this.
I'm so sorry to hear about your Dad. There's nothing like a tradegy to get us motivated.
I quit smoking after a very good man I know died of lung cancer it was a horrible tradegy.
Now I'm trying to lose weight because I'm the heaviest I've been my entire life and I've never had to worry about weight. I figure before it gets too out of control I should get a handle on it.

my reason for november goal is my hubby is in the navy and is deployed and well i wanna be able to get that sexy dress on for him for his homecoming. and well its right before holiday season and i need to not gain but instead keep losing thru holidays my true goal is 140 some time but i'd like to be 155 or less by end og november... i'm 184 now.
184 to 155 by November is quite a goal. I wish you the best of luck, just be careful with cutting too many calories in such a fast amount of time. If you go to low you will effect your metabolism which will slow down your weight loss.
well i plan on hittng the gym hardcore and having one day that i eat whatever and nor really care on calorie count. but i doubt i'll get all the way to 155... but its worth a shot.
I originally wanted to lose 20 lbs in 6 months (3.33 lbs a month, no big deal. . .Slow but steady wins the race. Right?). As time has endured things have changed. I started training with some amazing people the past 3 months and will begin training for boxing on saturday. I have lost 12 lbs total since May, and 6.5 since I began using CC in late July. Only 8.5 lbs to go by November 24, my 6 month goal. My ultimate goal is to maintain at 145 until after I graduate with my BSN (Nursing) in May 2009, which is ironically my pre-college weight. WOOHOO! (I'm crossing my fingers) ![]()
I hadn't seen many results but I realize a little more each day how much better I feel, and that I am actually slimming down quite nicely. A miracle I tell you! ![]()
So, anywho, that is my story. Nothing thrilling, nothing out of the ordinary. Just another adventure in life. Another quest to reclaim my body and be the best I've ever been.....lol.
ok so I did briefly hit 133.4 (my temporary goal is to get to 133) so I guess I hit my almost goal for 1 day, lol. I am at a consistent 135-136.6 for the past couple weeks. Hoping I can lose the few lbs before year end and be consistently at 132-134 by Dec/Jan. That'd be awesome!
I just joined today! My reason for losing by November is that I'm getting married in January and 1) I'm doing a boudoir photo session for my FH and I want to look super fabulous and 2) I want to be able to just maintain my weight through the end of the year. PS - littlemalynda, congrats!
i wanted to lose by november, because the end of november is my birthday, and my family typically has a huge get together, and i just thought that would be a great "reveal" time of sorts.
my weight has fluctuated for a while (it started at 164, and then went to 143). but i lost a pound lost week, which puts me at 145. i'm trying to be 133-134 by thanksgiving.
Well im not fat or anything i just really want to lose some weight and tone up for November as im going on holiday with some mates who are all skinny and also for summer. It probably makes me sound a bit shallow but otherwise i feel odd one out so im hoping to lose about 5kg! Although i honestly dont understand how calculators tell me i have to consume about 3000 calories for maintenence when if i hang around 1800 i stay the same but its a mission to get that many calories in each day!
