Why do you want to lose weight by Nov?

Quote  |  Reply

Hi! I just signed up today and was curious as to why people have set their goal for November? Is it for before holiday rush (when all the rich naughty foods come into play)?

Feel free to post what has inspired you to get healthy, and help inspire others!

My personal story is a bit sad, but important. My father passed away two months ago. He was only 59, and although cancer of the thymus was the main reason, the fact that he had adult diabetes, coronary heart disease, and high cholesterol were all contributing factors. It took only 1 month (4 weeks!) from noticeable signs of cancer, to diagnosis, and then death for him to leave my life- and it has scared the **** out of me.

I have since made a dedication to myself to work at becoming a healthy individual. I am engaged, with marriage and children dangling over my head, and I worry about the future. There is no way my children are going to grow up without me. I want to see them take their first steps, go to prom, be in the first row when they graduate or get married. I want to live a long life with my future husband, and be healthy enough to travel the world- walk the cobblestone streets of Rome, swim in the oceans of Jamaica, ect.

So due to family history, and a glimmering hope for the future, I decided that being in shape by Nov is my new #1.

So how is everyone doing do far on reaching their goals for november?? I am still hovering around 3-4lbs above my goal weight. What about ya'll?

I am 135 pounds right now, i wanna be 130 pounds by the end of october, and i wanna be 125 pounds by the end of november.

AHH!! I just had a MAJOR BINGE! I feel soo bad!!! im so full but i just couldnt put the spoon down!! i drank a whole pot of tofu and kimchee stew (my husband's name is smith, but my ethinicity is korean and we like to eat a lot of kimchee!) when i came home from school today i had 7 dumplings and a bowl of congee and kimchee (haha) i was so full and i vowed to not eat anything else for dinner that night. guess what. i DID!

Uhh the guilt =.= I feel as if im drifting further from my goal..  My husband and i went to chicago over thanksgiving weekend and oh we dined out for every meal and i didnt hold myself back. ahh!!! Im freaking out!!

I am currently in a challenge against my cousin that whoever loses the most weight in inches, weight and overall appearance (before and after pictures) by Halloween wins $50.  We are trying to look good to fit into our costumes.  Then from Nov 1st thru Jan 1st, it's double or nothing.  To "Maintain Don't Gain" during the holiday season.  My goal is to get back down to a very toned 125.  I have 9lbs to go.  I do know, however, that muscle weighs more than fat, so I am going on my physical appearance to determine my goal more than just the weighted number.

Best wishes to all on here!
