I want to lose the weight so I can think about getting pregnant!

Hi! I love this site.  I have 37 pounds to lose to get myself to a normal BMI.  I won't let myself get pregnant before I can give myself and a baby the best in energy levels at least.  Besides, I just want to not carry around the extra pounds anymore.

So Hello!

Hey there!  I just started this today and we are in the same boat.  My goal is to lose 20lbs so I can look good for one more summer before I myself start trying for a baby.  I am so afraid that if I get pregnant before I get really healthy it will just go down hill from there.  Looking forward to getting that weight off.  We can do it!!  Good LUCK:)

hi, i am trying to drop a few pounds before i decide to have a baby as well. You don't mind me asking how old are you?

Hi Girls!

 Thanks for saying hi.

Maybe we can be the 'lose the weight before TTC club'

I'm 28, and have never had kids before.  Pregnancy scares me somewhat, so I want to be in good shape.  I'm also vain about my stomach (even with an extra 37 pounds--I'm almost 6 feet tall) and want a good muscle base before it stretches wide.  I am giving myself this year to prepare my body and my mind.

Thanks.  Kia

Hi ladies!

I am in the same situation as you too...however mine are more medical reasons.  I have PCOS and if I don't loose the weight and keep my blood sugars regulated, I won't be able to get pregnant!  So, any tips or meals or workouts you have to suggest, that would be great!

I have used this site for awhile, but am just now starting to REALLY use it to monitor things.

Hi! I'm new to this site, as well. I just had a baby and I want to have another but I need to loose weight first. I had gained about 15 pounds before I got pregnant a year ago and my pregnancy was very hard. I had high blood pressure. Before I get pregnant again I want to loose about 40 pounds (my pregnancy weight is already gone-this is the old weight I already needed to loose). My baby is 3 months old and I still haven't gotten back into an exercise routine.  I would encourage you all to loose the weight now before you get pregnant-it will make the pregnancy that much easier!

I struggled with infertility as a result of excess weight.  My doctor told me to loose the weight because it will interfere with ovulation.  I used weight watchers at that time and got plenty of excercise.  I liked weight watchers because it wasn't strict and really didn't feel like a diet.  I lost 50lbs and now have a bueatiful son.  Weight loss will totally help.

Hi everybody!  How has your first week been? I've lost 4 pounds and am excited. Let me know how everyone is doing?

Kia

That's me too! I'm 5'9 and 198 right now! I have a 2 and a half year old. Hubby and I are going to start trying sometime this summer for another baby. I'm trying to get down to 160 or as close as I can to that beforehand. I was already heavy (185) when I got pregnant with my son. When he was a year I lost it and was back to 185. Than just this last summer I gained 22 lbs, due to stress. I do not want to get pregnant at what I am now. I feel like if that happens than I'm going to just be fat forever. Bare minimum I want to be at 170-175 before getting pregnant. Than during the pregnancy I want to eat healthy and not go way overboard on weight gain. That way I'll have less to lose afterwards and I can get right back on working towards my goal.

I've lost 9 lbs so far. Started at 207.

I want to be a "cute" pregnant lady!!! :D
Hey me too!!
I totally understand this post.  I'm not ready to try for a baby anyways yet, but I know that I want to loose quite a bit of weight before I try for one.  I went maternity shopping with a friend of mine who weighs less than I did and she had trouble finding maternity clothes.  I so want to fit into cute things when I'm pregnant.  (sounds shallow, I know)
Me too! I'm hoping to try to concieve this summer, so I'm also trying to lose 20 lbs before then. I actually have a blood disorder and I'll be high-risk anyways, so I want to be as healthy as possible before I get pregnant.
