(hope this helps)

Its funny but the same thing happen to me, I knew I was overweight but I recently saw a picture of me at 190lbs and I could not believe I looked so fat, my body image was distorted, and now at 158 ( Im 5'9'), my DH tells me I'm skinny and I get mad because i still feel overweight even thou I know i look good...
Body image is a strange thing?.....

I knew that I was over weight, but I think it takes seeing yourself as others do to make it hit home. the pictures showed me what everyone was seeing , when I saw them I was really ashamed of myself. Ya see I'm only 5'2" I went from about 120 to about 158 in a matter of four years. I had quit smoking and when my daughter got pregnant I gained the weight right along with her, the sad thing was that she lost the baby weight and I didn't. HaHa. But now I am almost back down to my old size. And yes my fiancee also tells me that I need to stop now, that I look great. So hopefully soon I be back down to my regular size and still smoke free.

well we had a small group weigh in last week, but this is where we're at and healthmd is still the one that lost the most weight,8.4 lbs,WAY TO GO![]()
I read on another web-site that the average Thanksgiving dinner has about 4000 calories,on one persons plate! Gram-Gram pointed out to me that on average a person gains 5-10 pounds during the Holidays! I picked a tough time to start this challenge but hope we stick to it anyway! I am going to fight temptation as hard as I can! One really good thing is I won't have the left overs around since we eat at my in laws so I am so glad for that! I hope you all are doing fantastic this week, and weigh in today or tomorrow so we can get a good weight before the food attacks,ha-ha!
I was telling Candilovesjon that I heard on t.v. this morning that people gain on average of 5-10lbs during the holiday season, Sept- Jan. but can't find any study to back it up, all I can find is that it is really about 1 pound. That sounds better to me. But I don't know because we eat different in the winter months so a gain of 5lbs seems possible. I was wondering does anyone else have any data on it.
Either way I am going to do my best to go easy on the goodies. Have come to far to slip back now.
challenge sw 179.0/cw 172.6 lost 6.4 lbs.I am glad to have lost even though I had such a struggle this week! HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!![]()
SW 64kg last week 63.5kg this week 63kg. yay!
well, I"m out of town and don't have a scale, so I can't weigh in this week. But I am about to go for a run and I'm going to try to have small (er than normal) portions and skip dessert. I have 4 separate thanksgivings to go to, so I"ll be lucky to maintain, butI'm also planning on doing a lot of hiking while I'm out of the city. Good luck to all!

CW 195.6, lost 0.4 this past week, what a relief!
I joined this motivational group, Monday to Weigh!, that sets personal goals and challenges, and obviuosly, weighs every Monday. This past Monday I was 0.9 lb up! These water fluctuations kill me but being up kept me in check to make up for todays's weigh in. This group was just created, so it's a great time to join in. Check it out.
Good luck to us all this week. Now back to cooking. Happy Thanksgiving everybody!![]()
Happy Thanksgiving to each and everyone.

Rats! I know I have been drinking more but I thought I was keeping the food intake under control. I also know that a 5 lb loss in the first week was mostly water but still! Has this happened to anyone else on the second week? Any advice?

Hey guys, sorry I didn't weigh-in last week - it was kind of crazy. I'm at 150.0 - still. Which I guess it's good that I didn't gain, but I'm having a heck of a time trying to eat right and absolutely NO motivation to exercise. When I wake up in the morning I'm all about eating right and have the best intentions, by the time the afternoon rolls around, I just want to go home, eat some pizza and sit in front of the TV. I need some motivation big-time! I have NO IDEA how I lost 36lbs, I can barely maintain, let alone lose the last 20...I'm getting discouraged and frustrated with myself and my horrible choices!!!
....sorry this turned into a 'pooor me' rant, I do feel a little better admitting it though!!! Hope you guys are having better luck than I am and more ambition!

I got this way as well last month it was so hard during ttom and I am reaping it now my weight is up this morning! I got off track and it has been hard to get back on and stay on track! I did o.k. on Thanksgiving it was just hard the next couple days.I am forcing myself to eat the appropriate amount of calories but I have been eating lots of junk! I am motivated by those two pounds though it is so discouraging to see the scale go the opposite direction then what I want it to! You need to get a grip before it catches up to you like it did me! I am hoping by me telling you this you can snap out of this so you don't have to lose more than the 20 you have to go! YOU CAN DO IT!DON"T GIVE UP! remember it is easier to get on track now than in a few days once we get in a slump it is so easy to stay there so kick yourself and get out of the slump now before you become comfortable there and decide to stop fighting!Hope I helped you I needed to hear this as well!- Candi
This week I'm holding steady at 63kgs.
Is jump roping as good an exercise as running?
In terms of calorie burning, moderate jumping is about equal to running a 10-minute mile, although calorie burning is always a function of time... Read more
