I love my Post: Great grains, raisains and dates cereal

I ALWAYS get that

But it has far too many calories

Today I got the Kellogs Sultana Bran Crunch. I havent tried it yet. Has anyone else tried it? Is it good? i was thinking of returning it for my regular Post cereal.

PS: I am not a big fan of Special k.

Quaker Corn Bran Squares are low cal, with just a little sweetness.  I agree about the soggy factor.  What I do when I eat my cereal, is put in only a handful at a time, eat it, then add another handful.  People at work think I'm weird!  LOL

Mix regular bran flakes with another cereal, like Multi-Grain Cheerios or something else with a bit of sugar.

I have become a huge fan of regular Cheerios.  I don't like sweet in the morning, so this works for me.  I tend to bring them to work in a plastic container and eat them dry as a morning snack.  Another good cereal is shredded wheat if you like savory.

Kashi Go Lean has excellent flavor and texture, but the high fiber can be embarrassing towards the middle of the day if you are not use to it.

Personally, I prefer Quakers Weight Control Oatmeal. I like the higher protein, fiber and overall texture of the grain.

I don't think this has been mentioned, but it's a fav for me and a cheaper yet healthy option. I go with the Oat Cluster Crunch Cheerios. It's sweet but I like to SEE the oat clusters, rather than the MultiGrain Cheerios, where you can't. It's 100 calories per serving (3/4 c.) You can see the nutritional info on the Cheerio's Website (click on See ingredients and Nutrition Info.) http://www.cheerios.com/ourCereals/CrunchChee rios/CrunchCheerios_home.aspx

I know you say you're not a fan of Special K, and I'm not a fan either - unless it's Vanilla Almond flavor.  It tastes incredible and I've been eating it every day for breakfast for over a year.  Only 1.5 grams of fat.  Give it a try if you haven't yet - to me it doesn't taste at all like the other flavors.

Another option is Chocolate Chex.  My kids swear it's the greatest cereal ever! And I love buying it for them - whole grain, low-fat and only 8 grams of sugar.  That's less than my Special K!  Plus, if you ever have a sweet or salty craving later in the day, you can grab a handful out of the box - guilt-free, and delicious!

Fiber One or All Bran!  It is very low cal (60 kcal/serving + NF milk).  I sprinkle berries on it and eat it every morning.  The best thing is that the fiber makes you feel full.  That and a small 100k snack around 10am keeps me full until lunch.

Original post shredded wheat (the big biscuits) with frozen mixed berries.

Or high fiber bran flakes (usually whatever supermarket brand, they all taste good to me).  Also with the frozen berries and milk.. mm..

also shredded spoonfuls by Barbras has good fiber and low in calories. Might have too much sugar but I love it.

I love to use Kashi cereal... about 1/4 cup of the cereal... and add it to my low fat yogurt in the morning! Delicious

I love High Fiber Oatmeal and Cheerios.  The banana nut is my new favorite, 3/4 cup is 100 calories.  I usually eat it dry.

Tongue outI absolutely love yogurt with cheerios! I think it is my  new favorite breakfast!

Kashi Go Lean Crunch
*two thumbs up*

It seems to keep my full for a realtivly long time, and its delicious and crunchy!

I really like Kashi GoLean Crunch as well, but it is high calorie. What I like to do is mix it with something lower cal, like Cheerios. That way I'm getting volume and taste at not too much of a caloric "price". I also go for light vanilla Silk instead of regular milk. Cuts some cals there too, but I get that not everyone likes the soymilk.

so true, its like my favorite cereal in the world!

I got rid of all prepackaged cereals except Shreddies and I keep only the version with 50% iron daily requirements for supplementing. I eat basic oatmeal with fruit and yogurt 5 days a week and Shreddies one day a week. I think we've been fooled into thinking boxed cereals are healthy. The ones that have high fiber (greater than 6 grams), no added sugar(s) including HFCS, some protein and low fat. Too many cereals are no better than eating a box of cookies (just compare and you'll see). I do like the cereals but to me they are really desserts in disguise. I allow myself the Shreddies (the old basic version) one day a week as a treat just as I would as real dessert.

Fiber One Frosted Shredded Wheat! It is my favorite. I eat it EVERYDAY! It is sooo filling and delicious! I reccomend it to everyone!

I really enjoy Kashi Go Lean, super high in fiber and less sugar than most cereals, I usually put a few drops of honey and a sprinkle of cinnamon on there to spruce it up! mmmm.

I love capitan crunch, life,  and fruity pebbles! I know they are lots of calories, but I just love them! but I don't eat them anymore :( I eat special k chocolate.. I really like it! It's the closest I'll get to chocolate on a diet! haha I haven't tried the one you are talking about.. but I hope is good! cereal is of the best things you can have for breakfast if you are on a diet! plus is delicious!

Blueberries 1/2 cup

quality nonfat, or lowfat vanilla yogurt 1/2 cup

Kashi GoLean Crunch 1/2 -1/4 cup

in that order,

awesome!

I tend to avoid things when an appropriate serving size doesn't satisfy.

This satisfies!
