Wanted: Competitive person

Quote  |  Reply

So I am a really competitive person and I typically do better with weight loss when I have someone to compete with. By compete I don't mean pounds wise its more of an exercise thing.

So if anyone is interested let me know, what I am looking for is someone to post with everyday about how much they exercised and how many calories they burnt.

Good job Fictionalbeing!  You're the only one to post today (so far).  I am sick!  Got a nasty cold from my son.  I am taking today off from exercising.  Although a lot of people (I used to be one of them) think that going to the gym or going out for a run, while your sick, is a good idea-because you feel better afterwards-it's not.  You are extending your recovery time and not allowing your body to go through it's healing course naturally.  So, if you're sick...stay in and have some homemade chicken soup (low-sodium, of course).  :)  Hope everyone is well!

Welcome to the club Hummus Smile

Thanks for checking up on me Sammie!!  I need it.  I did good though...  EVERYONE is doing such a great job and this board definitely helps.   So here is where I am for the week:

Monday - elliptical - 25 minutes, moderate walk - 35 minutes = 700+/- cals

Tuesday - upper body weights - 25 minutes, moderate walk - 35 minutes = 400 +/- cals

Wednesday - elliptical - 25 minutes = 400 +/- cals

I am happy with this and on track so far.  I wanted to go out walking yesterday afternoon but just ran out of time.  I am going to do weights again today. THANKS again for checking up on me.... it really makes a difference.  My goal is to get this in my schedule for the next 2 weeks and then add yoga in... I used to be an avid yoga girl but I have gotten out of it and I know it made a big difference in my strength, attitude, and over all wellness.  KEEP ME ON TRACK!!

Got some exercise in!

34 minute bike ride and 30 minutes of pilates/plyometrics for a total of approximately 390 calories!  : )

Lost another pound!  My weigh-in days are Thursdays.  : )  10 lbs. to go!

Congrats Litza!

So my exercise isn't going to be great today, but I just got my haircut and styled and I am going out tonight, so I am not going to ruin it by working out (horrible girly reason I know but oh well) but it looks super cute so I know the other females in this group will understand Laughing

Went on an hour and a half walk with moderate hills burnt around 450 calorie

Hey guys! It's always better for me to have a gym partner to stay motivated and honest.

Today:

Swimming laps 1600 m. 45 minutes

Calories burned: 345.

Keep up the sweat!.

Hey!  I had to go out of town this morning so I only got a quick two miles done on the treamill before we left. I hope to get another walk in tonight but I don't know if it'll happen yet or not. I still need to clean the house. Frown

2 mile jog

24 min (I was really happy about that cuz thats 5 miles an hour and hard to maintain...also the first time I have been able to keep it up for a whole two miles)

307 calories

Good Job everyone!! Keep it up!

Weight Training

25 Minutes - 147 Calories

Just wanted to quickly say how great everyone is doing getting something done everyday. Even when exercising is the last thing you want to do. Keep it up!! We all rock!!!!Cool

In I go!  I'm very competitive, and would love to join in!  My stats:

5'3" 115-118lbs on any given day.  Not looking to lose weight, but to lose fat, gain muscle, and become a faster runner.  I was regularly doing 3 miles 3-4 days/wk for a while, then took a break and am now building back up.  Today I ran 1.66 miles @ 8'34"/mile, and did lap swimming for 25 minutes.  I'm running my first 5k on October 18th and want to make it in 27 minutes or under.  Until then, I'm trying to run every day (with "rest days" being 1 mile days once I work my way back up).

Today: Ran 1.66 miles, 8'34"/mi pace, 25 minute "vigorous" lap swimming (I'd also like to run a triathlon in the town where my family has a summer home by next summer and not embarass myself too much).  Total calories, according to Nike+ and here: 361.

Hey everyone-

So who works out on the weekends? I usually don't, this is the time for be to be social and go out...  I might be working out and I might not, just wanted to give everyone a heads up and see how everyone else dealt with working out on the weekends.

I'm with Sammie...I only work out 5 days a week and then take my break on the weekends. So, today I did:

3.25 miles

45min

486 calories burned
