So I am a really competitive person and I typically do better with weight loss when I have someone to compete with. By compete I don't mean pounds wise its more of an exercise thing.


So if anyone is interested let me know, what I am looking for is someone to post with everyday about how much they exercised and how many calories they burnt.

Friday (so far...may still go for a run):

15 mins. elliptical, 140 calories; 15 minutes ab workout.  Hurray for early-AM workouts :)  Happy weekend everyone!

Down with a cold.  :-(  Hopefully it clears up by Monday.  Then I can really get back into things!

-Saturday walked the Mall for 3 hours looking for yellow heels (it seriously took me that long to find a pair, but I did and they were super cute) burnt around 700 according to CC.

-Saturday/Sunday morning: Dancing at the Club for 3 hours I found that when you dance you burn 6 calories a minute so I burnt roughly 1080 calories (Man I need to dance everyday, way more fun and I burn more calories)

Went on a 35 min walk, pushing a stroller - 148 calories.

So with the dancing and tonights walk I burnt around 1,228 calories!

Wow, whoever knew going shopping could be so much exercise!  No more online purchases for me, I guess ;)

Saturday:

Ran 4.2 miles @ 9'15"/mile.  373 calories.

Nevarren I couldn't believe it either, but it is great exercise because you are so preoccupied with shopping you don't realize how long you have been walking (at least we didn't)


This is probably at stupid question but does 9'15'' mean 9 mins 15 seconds?

Yes, it does, though I'm not entirely sure it's accurate.  I think I need to recalibrate my nike+ sensor for the track (I usually run on hillier terrain), so I think my time was actually closer to 9'40"/mile.  I'm not complaining, though!


Is anyone else interested in increasing their running endurance?  I was talking to the girl I run with, and we were thinking wouldn't it be nice if someday we could run 10 miles/day 4-5 days/wk, both because we'd feel great and because there would always be room for chocolate cake ;)  Any takers?

Definately a taker on the running. I can only do about 12 minutes a mile now and sometimes have to take it down for 13.20 so I can actually do my whole 2-3 miles. But I have only been jogging a few months now. I haven't worked on increasing my speed because I want to get to my weight goal first. Then I would like to start training for a 5k marathon. Well, I walked to the grocery store this weekend for a total fof 170 calories burned. Haven't done anything today. Got a cold now. Sucks.

Hi Sam,

Count me in. I am trying to rid myself of 75 LBS.

I gained weight and then quit smoking a year ago and gained a ton so got hit with a double whammey.

I want to be at 175 again.  I am pretty sure the first 25 will go easy for me but after that will require a lot more effort.

I have a Bowflex with the rods and a nice hybrid bike I can ride.

After completing my first week here on cc and keeping my calorie intake close to 1800 I have lost 7 pounds.  Hopefully I can keep up some of this momentum!

Monday:

Ran 2 miles @ 9'33"/mile.  179 calories.  Woooooo.

John - I know all about the quitting smoking thing and gaining weight with it. But the fact that you quit smoking is so great! Just stay focused and you can lose the weight.

So, I at least got on the treadmill today. I really thought about not doing it at all but I havn't missed a work out in like 12 weeks. So, I just took it really easy and walked slowly for an hour. (well not slowly but I definately didn't overdo it.)

Haven't logged in fo a while.  I have missed logging in like 3 days of exercise out of a possible week and  a half or so.  I had a death in the family, so I've been dealing with the viewing, mass, burial, etc.  I am glad to see how many posts we're up to!  Sam-this was a great idea!  And a lot of people are benefitting!  Good deed for the year for you missy!  Hope everyone is doing well.  Keep up the good work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have no clue how many calories...but I was drenched (especially because everything was done outside in the hot Florida sun!)

Litza sorry to hear about the death in your family! And thanks, I am glad everyone keeps posting I was afraid that this thread might die out.

 

No work out today for me I over did it Sunday and my knee is killing me so I am going to rest it and try to workout tomorrow.

Nevarren- Wish I could run but I still have PT to do to get my knee back to normal.

John- Welcome, and congrats on quitting smoking! Just think of how accomplished you will feel when you lose the weight and no longer smoke you are going to be super healthy!!!

 

So no hard workout for me today my knee is not feeling right I really over did it this weekend, which was stupid however I did go on a 37 min walk pushing my niece her in stroller so I burnt about 155 calories.


BTW where is everyone today?

Only got in a 30 minute walk today.  168 Cals.

Jogged a mile and did sprint intervals (6X100) and (6x40).  Did some frog jumps, push-ups, dips, kicks, lunges, and squats.  Had a fun workout today!  It was sunny but windy!  : )  +/- 500 calories

Couldn't do anything yesterday and probably won't be able to get it done today either. I feel a lot worse than a cold. I stayed on the couch all day yesterday and still feel really weak this morning. I havn't wanted to eat anything or do anything. I did manage to have some eggs this morning though. Hopefully I will be better by Friday. Everyone have a good day and exercise some for me!

Got back into it today. Hope everyone is doing okay and staying on track.

Yesterday I didn't get anything done, it was pouring here so I couldn't walk and my knee hurt so I didn't push it on the bike.

Ehhh my knee still hurts I think I need to go to the doctor. So tonight I did 35 mins of weights burnt around 177 calories.
