Wanting to be a great example for my daughter and feel good about myself again!

Hi.  I am new here.  Today is the day I have decided to get serious about losing the weight that did not fall off with the birth and breastfeeding (I was lucky enough to have that happen with my son but not this time!) plus the other 40lbs I have been carrying around since college.

I have "struggled with my weight" for as long as I can remember.  I find that phrase amusing as I type it because really it is a struggle with putting the right food in my mouth, getting my butt off the couch and feeling good about myself. I could care less what the number on the scale is - I do however gt hung up on clothing size and not fitting into any of the three sizes I have in my closet!  Sometimes I feel like it is okay because I have just had my second baby in two years and it is "hard" with little ones and little time for myself. Yeah, that is an excuse.  I see thin moms all the time.  I have moms in my playgroup that make it to the gym - I should too!  And I was fat way before I had kids.  I realize this all sounds like a rant but it is coming to a conclusion - I promise :)

The conslusion is that I had a daughter 12 weeks ago.  I want better for her.  Girls (and some boys) are tortured by weight issues so early these days.  My daughter is not blessed with rail thin genes.  She is going to have to control her weight with good choices and physical activity.  If I have learned anything from my son over the past two years is that they learn EVERYTHING by watching you!  I want her to see me make good food choices effortlessly, be physically active as the norm - not because I am trying to "get in shape".  I want her to be in shape because it comes by doing the right things all of the time - not just when she feels fat.  I know you are supposed to make these changes for yourself and not because someone else wants you to.  Well, I am doing it for myself but  I am also doing it for my daughter.
