This sounds awesome. I am hoping to get down to 120lbs by April 15th. I am currently 5'7 and 134lbs.  I run middle distance track (1500m and 3000m steeplechase) and have always felt fastest when I am smaller.  I've managed to put on weight in the last few months due to stress eating and just simply not being motivated.  Its time for change!!! Planning to go to California to race on April 15th so I want to be back in awesome shape!

see you all at the weigh-in tommorrow!! We can do this!!

Hello everyone. I am 5'8 and 144 lbs. I started gaining weight fifteen months ago when I quit smoking. (Yay) I'm glad I quit but I hate that I gained thirty pounds! I have lost ten pounds and want to lose 14 more. I have recently started counting calories which has helped, but I am super lazy about working out. Warmer weather would help, but I need to do something regardless. I love the idea of doing weigh-ins here. Is it too late for me to get in on that?

just found this site and I'm soooo up for the challange! I do a weekly weigh in with my friend - we started last week 2/23 - now I'll have more friends to chat with.  My goal is 125, but i set a goal of 130 by 4/26 (my 30th b-day) Starting weight 2/23 was 140 -

3/2 135-136 (can't tell on my scale)! Yipeee!

I lost 5lbs the first week!, I just might be able to get to 125 by 4/26 after all!

I have been on the site for a month or longer now, but have not been very compliant with recording all intake. I really want to get down to #140 by April 1, since I go on vacation on April 2. I am at #151 (as of this morning). Have been hanging between #150 and #155 since turning 30 almost 2 years ago. And those 15 pounds I feel litterally came on overnight! P.S. We would also be celebrating my 32nd birthday during vacation on April 7!

I am becoming familiar with the website. I just came across this group. I am trying to get to 125-127 lbs by April 2oth. I began my diet and exercise on Feb. 1. My baseline weight was 137.8, and my current weight is 131.4. I have started running in February, and I truly feel this has accelerated my weight loss immensely. I am 5’6” so we shall see if this is attainable by April 20th. My boyfriend is playing volleyball in Florida in April, so I want to cheer him on while soaking the sun in my swimsuit.Smile

BTW...Awesome on your weight loss thus far!

I will be 34 towards the end of April  (April 28th) and my goal is to be 112 by my birthday! I am currently 114-115 so not far to go but still hard to lose :( . I started on March 6th and lost all my weight in the first week and a half and have been pretty stuck ever since :(. My waist went from a 29 to a 25-26 (goes back and fourth) My biggest thing is the over all body fat that doesn't seem to want to go away lol. I was pretty okay with my body all my life a stayed between 108-112 but that all ended after my 5th child. I was at 119 forever after having him then for some reason and i am guessing age i went up to 125-126 then finally got to 121 and stayed there forever after seeing a pic of myseld in a bikini i have decided to get the fat/weight off. I have been doing the ab lounger and squats with weights I walked 10.5 miles in the last two days. I eat lots of yogurt and drink lots of water and like I said in the beginning it melted off but now I am stuck with these last 2-3 pounds and still to much body fat :(

I am so happy to find others I can talk to because no one else around me understands. Their thoughts are eat and be happy....yeah right like i can do that.

Sound like you are going to get to goal.. I am 32, and never been in the 120's for most of my 20's. Now that I am 32, never had any children, there are no excuses. I noticed the low card recipe group. I am totally trying to withdraw my carb in take, and increase my protein intake. Running has helped a lot, and I am running ( some days I get bored running and others I love it) Keep it up!

Same here I never saw 120 or higher (unless i was pregnant) until about 31-32 that is when I seen the 120's :(.  I am 5'.5 1/2" but I have a small frame so the weight really shows on me :( . I gain one single pound and you see it everywhere. I tried running for a while but it just wore me out so bad lol so now I am walking about 5 1/2 miles a day hoping to slowly get up to jogging. It seemed so easy to shed the first part of my weight but these last few pounds of fat seem impossible the inches stopped melting away and I even gained back some so I am 116 now :( . I am so annoyed right now I can't stand it lol. I have added doing the ab lounger to my routine and I can really tell a difference in how tight my stomach feels under the fat now if i could just get that layer of fat off of it. I also do dead lifts and squats to firm up the booty more hehe. I figure the more muscle I can put on the more fat I will burn :) Hmmmmm maybe the weight I put back on is from muscle ha yeah right like I am that lucky lol. I wish you the best of luck on your goal you can do it because you have very little to lose :) And if you are running you already have me beat lol.

I just noticed that we are almost the same height :) I gotta ask what motivates you enough to keep running? I really need something that keeps me going when I feel like falling over lol.

I am medium frame, and I would love to get to 122-125 by the end of May, but for now...my goal is to get to 125 in the next 3 weeks. My biggest goal to lose weight around stubborn love handles. Last year I got down to 125 lbs. in April by practically starving myself, less than 1000 calories per day. I kept it off until October, and then I noticed the weight gain. I was quite sedentary through out the summer and not too selective of my food intake. Now, I eat quite a bit, and am following a south beach like diet. I use to love carbs more than anything, and now I try to finish my proteins completely, and not focus on eating my carbs first. My carbs are vegetables, some fruits, but I still keep my carb intake really low. This is the first diet that has ever worked for me and that I enjoy.

What motivates me to run? First of all my knees can be a little problematic, but if you stretch properly, you will notice a huge difference. Also...getting the right shoes makes a huge difference. I have very light shoes ( I got them at a runner's shop that can provide you with info. on a good shoe). My music tends to motivate me, but the biggest motivator is seeing the love handles starting to go away. RESULTS! It is the fastest way I have ever seen results.

I warm up for 1/2 mile by walking fast, then start a light, steady jog for about 3/4 mile, then increase my speed for 1/4 mi., then go back to my light, steady jog, and repeat until I reach 2 1/2 to 4 miles/ day...this depends on my mood each day, but I strive for no less than 2 1/2 miles/ day. It is very difficult, but I love the outcome.

You could be getting muscle. I know that is the case with me, so I understand that I don't necessarily have to rely on my weight goal, as I am feeling good about myself in a swimsuit. :-)

Hello,

I just read you guy's stories (mary 75 and Lynapena)  i'm on the same page (just fatter..LOL).I'll be 30 April 26 and for some reason it's a big deal for me - I want to be a hot 30 year old! The biggest challenge right now is getting more excercise - I just need the motivation. I'm 5.4 and I'd say i have a small frame - but you could never tell with the fat on my body! It's mostly in the stomach & hips. I guess i've been on the heavier side my whole life but after having kid's it got bad - at like 160-165 i finally got the motivation to do something about it and got down to 129 and that's the lowest i've ever been (i felt great!). After quit a while I jumped back to 140 and could not get it off for the life of me! Then I got back down to 131 and now I'm at 134.5. My goal is to get to 130 by my b-day and I'd eventually like to get down to 120-125. I do have a treadmill and I use it but I get sooooo out of breath running that i end up stopping. I NEED to push myself to keep going. HELP ME! I don't get enough sleep either so I know that boggs me down - I just need to push cause I know in the longrun It will be sooo worth it. Right now when i do the treadmill I walk between 3.5-4.0 - up and down with incline between 8-10 for 30-45 minutes - it's a program in the treadmill, but I could definately do better than that - but when i go to a higher program - the running is too long of an inerval - I can;t keep up. I guess I need to make my own program that i can gradually do more & more - any suggestions? I only have 27 day's to get down to 130! Think it's possible?

When you are on the treadmill, challenge yourself and add 5 extra minutes from the time before. I do this everytime until I get to the deisred time on the treadmill.45-60 mins. ( I won't always get to increase by 5 mins., but I don't go below my minimum-40 mins) I have mild asthma, and I try not to let it control my life and exercise routine. I try not to think about losing my breathe instead I focus on music, something fun like what it will be like when I go to the beach or to derby and how fantastic I will look! I am about to go on my run..3 miles. it is sunny and beautiful here with a hint of cool air!Wish me luck on my run!

Are you eating properly? dieting? Something not likely to help, instead stressing you out?

I am dieting and have lost 6-7 lbs so far so I'm good in that aspect but I know I need to step up my game in the excercise dept. So after reading your post it motivated me to push myslef. I got a little starter program off the computer to help work myself into running and I did that last night - and I don;t know why i was so discouraged before cause I did great - skipped right over level 1 & 2 and did level 3. I walked 3 min to warm up - then I walked 3 mins and jogged 3 minutes and I did those intervals for 35 minutes and then a 5 minute cool down - so I went 2.5 miles and i was able to keep up with the jogging for 3 minutes at a time with no problem - so tonight i will do the same but I will do it for longer - probably 45 minutes. I will do that routine 3 times and then I will walk 2 min, jog 3 minutes and up my resistancy that way - I should be able to run 5 miles after 12 weeks accourding to this little plan I printed. So I'm on the right track - i just have to stick with it - thanks for your encouragement! I knew I needed to start doing it but reading your story gave me the push - thanks again and I'll keep you posted on my progress.

I am sooo excited!! I ran my 3 miles yesterday. I called one of my best friends and we pushed each other on our run. We talked most of the time, so it was 40 minutes before we knew it. I make myslef do something, even if it is a 15 min. walk, and I am just not feeling it. The next day I MUST make it up. The reality is, we will have our "off" days.

Today I weighed 131.7 lbs, and I taught an aerobics class. I recently got certified to teach Zumba, just so I have an obligation to work out. I don't have any other fitness certifications, but I read a lot about health and fitness. I absolutely love teaching Zumba.
