Who wants to join me for a St. Patricks Day Challenge?

It's exactly 3 weeks away. I'm having trouble breaking thru the 174 barrier. If I lose 1.67 a week for the next 3 weeks, I can be at my short term goal of 172.

Current Weight: 177

St. Patricks Day: 172

anyone?

St. Patty's Day weight:  205

Sure, I'll bite.

Current Weight: 207

St. Patty's Day Goal: 200

alldolledup:  good, and your loss is a reasonable one also.

We can check in everyday or however often we feel like and share our ups and downs   :)
gingerkabureck and jennifero29:

I don't know about the rest of you but my problem is getting enough exercise.  Since I'm in Ohio (in case you didn't guess) the weather has been too bad to get outside, snow/ice and temps in the teens.  But I'm hoping March is a little better, so maybe I can get out and walk to help with this goal.

hey, i'm new and i need a short term goal to get me motivated.

current weight: 193

St. Paddy's day goal: 187

I'm in.  I need a short term goal to motivate me too.  I also bartend at a Irisih Pub and we go all out for St. Paddy's Day.  It would be nice to lose some weight for the celebration.  It won't make my goal weight (still another 25 pounds before that) but anything would be good!!

ohio45: The weather has been awful here as well (i'm in southern ontario, canada) and it has been freezing, icey, snowy (getting a storm tonight) and blah! I still manage to get to the gym at least 3 times a week, although it is hard to keep up!

I'm in.  Hopefully this will motivate me to start up my walking again and speed up my weight loss.

Start: 137.5 lb

St Pat's Day:  135

Its not much but I've only lost 2 lbs since the beginning of January!
Welcome everyone.

We CAN do this!

rufus K:  I've always heard the less you have to lose the harder it is.

yep! think i want some of this action too. nothing like getting the fat off like a lil friendly challenge.

Current weight: 142

St. Patty's Day: 136

i'm in too!

current weight 175

St. Paddy's Day 170

It may be nice to have a short term goal! I'm in! :)

Current weight: 243

St. Patrick's Day: 238

Me too please -

Current weight 205

St Patricks day to be below 200!!!

2 pounds a week - I think i can do it!  Might have to start exercising though - shucks!

Here's a little glitch in our plan.  St. Patrick's day was moved this yr to March 15.  What do the rest of you want to do?  I need each and every day, so could use the extra days, (to the 17th).  Or, do you just want to have the official weigh in on St. Patricks day, the 15th?  Or, we could leave it open to everyone.

jella:  that's how I feel about exercising.  And, I decided long ago not to do things, that I wasn't going to keep up, like a couple of my  friends do........because what happens when you quit?

foodsciguy:  yes, short term sounds better doesn't it?

lovelynamazin and immom:  glad to have you here.

What are the main things the rest of you do, to control weight or get healthier?  I'm amazed at the things about nutrition I've learned on here this yr.  The top 2 for me, were drinking water and eating better.

Despite what some bars may advertise to get you to go out on the 15th, I assure you that St. Patricks day is, was, and always will be on March 17.  The official weigh day is March 17.  St. Patties day.

I'm in.  Going from 183 to 178.

Well, I'm an idiot.  apparently in Ireland the church did move st patties day.  I still stay we keep with the 17th b/c if we don't it makes me more of an idiot.

bugmenot:  that makes 2 of us  :)      It really confused me but I confuse easily.

Like I said, I need the extra days, so I'm weighing on the 17th!

Take it from me (I live in Ireland) that Paddy's day is 17th (bank holiday here) the change in the date has to do with the Church and Holy Week, the last week of Lent. Can't drink in Holy Week so change it to the 15th and Happy Paddy's Day "hic hic".Wink

I'm in

Current 209.5

Target 206

or is that too little or too much?

Weigh in on 17th for me too

pollackh:  "they" say, slower is better.  They also say not to lose over 2# a week, to be healthy and keep it off.

My great g'parents were from northern Ireland, but our name doesn't sound Irish.
