Who wants to start a new round of 30 Day Shred with me!?
So I'm jumping the gun a little, cause I don't actually have it yet ;o) But I thought this way we'd have a couple days for people to rev up, see the topic, jump on board etc. and then we could all start it together! February doesn't have 30 days anyway, so we don't have to start at the first of the month :o)
On day 1, we can post:
Starting weight:
Goal weight (at the end of 30 days):
Goal weight (final goal weight):
Calories to eat each day and deficit:
Measurements (chest, below breast, waist, hips, individual thighs, calves, upper arm and lower arm, or whatever else you want to measure):
Anything else you want to add! Anyone interested? I heard this is a lot of fun but difficult, so I'm looking for any support I can get! The idea is to do it EVERY day for 30 days and post real results! I'll post when I have the movie and we can pick a day to start - sound good to anyone?
After almost 5 days I am able to do this again tommorow morning... I hope Im not set back another 5 days again ![]()
Oh no! What happened to us!!??
My excuse...I went to Carnivale on Feb 22nd, did the workout that day...and haven't done it since!!! Figured I wouldn't do it the 23rd - 25th, but then on the 25th I got SUPER sunburned and coudn't even but on my sports bra LOL. So I slacked and then this Sunday I was aiming to get back on that wagon, and I got sick! I've had a fever and other bathroom issues since then, but today it looks like I'm back in the game.
I'd say I did a total of about 16 workouts in my "30 days" which sort of sucks but sort of isn't bad. I regained some weight during carnivale, but my loss from the beginning of the Shred was about 5 lbs. I'm not terribly happy or unhappy about this...but it's still a loss, I feel better, my cardio endurance has improved, I'm stronger and I can SEE the results.
My issue now is that on the 12th I leave for training and vacation until the 30th and I don't know what to do about exercise. I dont' want to blow all my hard work (I'm down about 8lbs total since I started, which I'm happy about, I am not setting a time limit for myself) but I know it's going to be tough with not cooking for myself and not having space to do regular workouts. *sigh* Life. Why does it always get in the way?
In the last two weeks I've managed to twist my ankle (out of commission for 5 days) and come down with a crazy flu (bedridden for 5 days) so I've only gotten in one workout in all that time.
The good news is since I started the 30DS I've lost 2 lbs, a half inch off my waist and an inch off my hips, which is about halfway to my goal and I'm on day 15!
uhhh...at least I'm not the only one
I only have plain-old lazyness to blame, though...
I have lost inches, though!
I'm starting over. Anyone else?
dovelette, how are you doing?
Despite kicking and screaming, hubby dragged me to do a workout yesterday, so we're back in the game. I weighed in today and I'm down to 176, from 181.8, so that's a loss of 5.8lbs, including my "whoops" days during Carnivale, so I'm happy! I haven't done my measurements yet though, I'll have to get them up after hubby wakes up.
So yeah, I'm gonna keep going, do another 30 days but try to be a little more flexible with days off...I'm trying to decide if I want to do 1 - 2 - 3 - off, or just schedule Wednesday and Sundays off, or what.
BTW, I really would recommend anyone to really do this regularly, if you can do it every day do it. I can't tell you how much stronger I felt, how good it felt to work out, how much easier workout 1 and even workout 2 was getting. Then when I missed all those days and went back into it, it was harder again, but not like before I started. I actually enjoyed it last night. So JUST DO IT! I think you'll really thank yourself a month from now.
Hi everyone - I wanted to post about if anyone had actually done the 30 day shred for 30 days and if so - the results - but then I saw this and thought "perfect!".
I am on day 4 of doing it - and I feel great after doing it....I am on level one only and I'm not sure when I am going to move up yet - maybe after day 10. I really want to do it every morning before work for 30 days. I am excited to report back the results. I know I might be crazy, but after 4 days of doing this I feel good - and motivated.
Here are my stats from Monday when started the video (its embarrassing, but whatever): I'm 5'5" and 228 lbs.
Hello gang! Thought I would share my experience with the 30 day shred. I have been working the video 3 times a week for 3 weeks now with two days on the bike for a total of 5 workouts a week at an hour a day. I found it on exercise tv from my cable provider. Or go to exercisetv.tv to take a look if you don't already have it.
39 year old male
Starting fitness level: walked from my car to my desk and back again 5 days a week.
Starting weight: 182
Current weight: 174
Goal weight: &n bsp;148 Recommended by CC as my ideal weight. I may adust &nb sp; &nb sp; later.
Belly measurement: Starting: 41.5" Now:40.5"
Goal Date: 1st day of summer. June 22nd.
I am eating 1600 kc/day and burning 2800.
I find this routine very approachable and easy to learn. No great coordination/flexibility required. I have been in top shape before - thanks to 5 years of martial arts - and from what I can see Jillian really knows her stuff. She is very inspirational and her approach is girl and guy friendly. This is by far the best workout video I have ever used.....I feel a little self conscious about using it but then I remember that Bruce Lee learned dance and took aerobics. It's a full body workout. And I am not paying for a gym membership until I'm certain I'll use it. So until I can stick with JM I ain't joining, and she has four videos out so maybe I won't need to. If you think this one is hard try her Burn Fat Boost Metabolism video. I almost threw up.
There is no way I can do this video every day....Not on a reduced calorie diet anyway. My muscles just don't recover that quickly. I know - getting old....so I hop on my stationary for a half hour program. I bought 5 pound weights for this video and they also come in handy to bump up your heart rate on the easier bike programs if your legs need a break. Also you may need 2lb or 3lb weights as well as 5's. She starts off with pushups and at the end she does some arm raises that are killer. 5's for the biceps/triceps and 3's for the shoulders would be good.
The key to success is just like she says - intention and intensity. You get out what you put in. I won't be moving on the the second level until I can do this one perfectly. When I first started I could only do 10 modified pushups and now I can do thirty unmodified. (20 shoulder width and 10 wide). If you give this 100% you will see results. And if you can't do the unmodified versions at 100% commitment and success then you haven't given this program the time it deserves. You could pobably do this one for two or three thirty day cycles before moving up to the next level
Well, it's been over 30 days. I haven't done this very consistently, but I'll post my stuff anyway...changes in bold

I'm actually shocked to see the small weight, but the good amount of inches lost! My pants are almost baggy enough that I need to get a smaller size, but not quite. I can't wait for that day! But, should I buy neww ones when I shrink to a smaller size even though I will most likely have to do this 3 times? I'm torn...
I'm also re-starting this and will be more diligent about doing it. Does anyone want to begin again with me? Or is there another thread starting this that I can join?
I'll do it with you. I have been doing it off and on for a while but I just haven't been consistant and I really need to be. I saw great results and could see muscles in my arms that I haven't seen for years. The more I do it the better I feel and the more motivated I am. But if I take a break I just can't seem to get started again. I went on vacation a week ago and just haven't got back to it. So here is me telling you that I will start over and I will do my first one today!!!!!!!!!
I like doing level one-one day, level two the next and level 3 the next. I really like the variation. Level one seems to really strain my legs and I feel really tight when I go for a walk or run (I'm not quite sure why). I really like the core exercises in level 3. I am by no means perfect and I still can only do a few regular pushups and then have to swich to modified. I use 3, 5 and 8 pound weights. But I'm afraid I am going to have to start over because it has been about 3 weeks since I did this and I know I have lost most of what I built.
So here is my goal for the rest of this week. Level 1 tonight, Level 2 Thursday and Level 3 on Friday. I will probably take Sat/Sun off but I will still do the treadmill and start over with Level 1 on Monday. I am tired of sitting on my A** and not making myself do this when I know how good it feels once it is over.
So here's to getting to it!!!!!!!!!
Good luck and kick some butt!!!!
I'm in!
I should be getting the DVD in tomorrow or the next day, I already did it once, someone posted them on youtube but it's to hard to watch the computer screen and do the workout lol
Starting weight: 143.8
Goal weight (at the end of 30 days): 135 - I'm being really hopeful lol
Goal weight (final goal weight): 110
Calories to eat each day and deficit: 1300 - about 700 to 1000
Great!
I did it yesterday along with some added exercises targeting my glutes and hamstrings...ouch...I can't do it today. I'm sore all over!
I'll be back at it tomorrow, though!
I'd like to begin a new thread for the next round. What do you think?
I have owned my DVD for months. I never even looked at it after I bought it. Then 2 days ago I started using it. It is a GREAT workout. Really surprized me. Since Sunday (today is Wed.) I have lost a total of 7 pounds. I know most of it is water weight. I have changed my diet too. Not use to eating this much food! I was the one that maybe ate one real meal a day. Never breakfast. Now I am eating 3 meals a day plus 2 snacks. I walk a minimum of a mile a day with the dogs. It takes me 15 minutes to do a mile right now. I have decided I am going to do the workout everyday. I hope this works! My son passed away a year ago and I let myself go. Gained 30-35 lbs. Time to get back into the swing of things.....
Let me know when you start a new thread. This one is long
Okay, here it is.
See you there!
Taborsgirl, I'm so sorry to hear about your son. I lost my brother a few years ago and our family just lost our young cousin in January. <hugs>
i love the video ~ i have done it twice last week and not again for three days. it kicks ass though. still trying to decide if i should do it everyday or every other day? i am running too...
