I know this seems to be a silly question but can someone explain to me how water actually helps weight loss? I know it flushes out the body but body but what else does it do? I have noticed an extreme change in my skin since I have started drinking at least 64 oz. a day! My skin is so much softer and I haven?t had to put on lotion nearly as much!

opps I guess I should have posted this in the weight loss forum... sorry
Water is supposed to speed up your metabolism.
Also, drinking water before a meal tricks your body into thinking your full... I'm guessing it is because your stomach will be partially filled with water. I know my boyfriend is attempting to gain weight and he was told not to drink water until he was done eating so as not to hinder or trick his "I'm full" mechanism.
Hmmm, I'm not sure about it speeding up metabolism.

Health benefits of drinking water
Cautions to consider
People with kidney problems or other conditions were fluid intake needs to be limited should follow their doctor?s recommendations with correct sodium intake. One potential but rare side effect of fluid intake can be hypoatremia in which electrolytes become imbalanced. Always seek advice from your doctor before trying any new diet or changing eating / drinking habits!

Thanks for posting that Schlosska! Very informative!
from what I've read recently, the water we eat has more of an effect on weight loss than the water we drink.
The water we eat is the water in foods, such as fruits and vegetables. and the water used to cook, such as in soups, stews, and in cooked cereals.
so be sure to get lots of fruits and veggies and other water-dense foods in your diet.

but when i drink lots of water, i feel bloated and full all the imte and i hate that. also i dnt like it coz the numbe orn the scales goes up and that demotivates me even though i know its the water.
obviously im gonna keep drinking water though, im just saying!

Then stop stepping on the scale. If you want a more accurate measure of weight loss, learn how to measure your body to see body size decrease.
People get too wrapped up about that number on the scale.

charlie, if you are drinking a lot at one time, try sipping water over a long period of time. Give it time to be absorbed before you drink more. Hope that helps you.
yeh i guess that could work.
i do use the scale too much but thats how i stay on track. i know its bad and i shouldnt but i cnt help it! :S xxx
