Water water all around, by I never seem to drink it!

Exactly.

I try. I have a glass of it by my bed. A bottle of it at work. But I never feel like it in the winter. I'm fine in the summer.

So what do you do? How do you motivate yourself to drink more.

If I don't feel like drinking water, I will drink either a tasty herbal tea or ultra-diluted juice (as in 2 oz grape juice to 8 oz water give or take).

Sometimes I'll bribe myself...If I have one plain glass of water then I can have a glass with crystal light or milk.

I literally have a schedule. One glass as soon as I wake up. One glass with breakfast. One glass before lunch. One glass with lunch. One glass in the afternoon and one at dinner. None after dinner (I don't like to wake up and go to the restroom during the night). Now it's a routine and I doit. I've also gotten past the point of having to go to the bathroom every five minutes. And since I drink a glass with every meal, I've cut down on the diet soda--I used to drink a couple diet rootbeers every day, but I don't even want them anymore.

I read somewhere that it takes 21 days to make something a habit. So for a month, I only drank water and tea. I almost never feel like drinking anything else now. Sometimes milk, but never juice or pop. It's been about a year, I still only drink water :)

 

I always keep a water bottle with me anywhere I go.  The trick for me is to keep the water cold.  I've actually gotten to where I do enjoy drinking it.  I know that doesn't sound good in winter, but that's the way I enjoy it most.  I was a severely addicted cola drinker.  I love coke classic.  I finally cut it down to 1 can of coke a day, and plan to eliminate this eventually. 

Also, just a twist of lemon juice adds a good bit of flavor to it and it's a natural diuretic.

I buy really nice water bottles.

But I love drinking water so it's not an issue anyway. I just love the clean, hydrated feeling and I like the excuse to get up from my desk job every 15 mins.
