Today was my real first water fast, I actually started it 5pm yesterday.
I was wondering if anyone could answer some of my questions about fasting.
I have lack of muscle to start with so does the body switch to burning fat faster to save muscle?
How much weight would a 104lb female lose after a ten day water fast?
I have been drinking about five 240ml sized water bottles is that enough water?
After the fast if I only consume apples and salad will I put on weight?
I'm also planning on going for an hour long walk every day.
My fast will last ten days, and I'm use to not eating for long periods of time usually 12 hours anyway.
Does anyone else have experience fasting?

Are you fasting to lose weight or another reason? charity etc?
Just out of curiosity, about the effects it has on the body.
I've researched this before hand and the detox part appeals to me.
You're a kid weighing 104lbs, this is NOT what you should be doing. Do not provide bullsh!t reasons like "the detox part appeals to me" - eat properly, drink lots of water, and your body WILL "detox" itself. This is not appropriate behavior, and you need to get your head in check.
Hi,
Fasting is a highly dangerous practice and not a healthy or sustainable means of weight loss. It is doubly dangerous when considering you are a growing teenager and already of what seems to be a fairly low weight - at 104lbs, how old are you and how tall are you?
Regardless of this, living on water, apples and salad for days will cause so much damage. You put yourself at risk of osteoporosis, of loss of fertility if you lose your period, hair loss, electrolyte problems, a weakening of the immune system, low blood pressure, blood disorders such as anemia, heart problems, and even death. The mental woes that come alongside can be just as devestating. Depression is common in undereaters, as well as distorted perceptions and problems like Body Dysmorphic Disorder. You will likely also shoot your metabolism to all hell by entering what is known as starvation mode.
Depriving your body and THEN doing an hour of exercise will speed up the damage. Don't be ridiculous - eat a balanced diet of wholegrains, healthy fats, fruit, vegetables, dairy (or alternatives if vegetarian, intolerant, etc), and protein. If you want a good list of sources, then here are some examples: (The items underlined are veggie friendly (although not neccessarily vegan friendly!))
Example Sources of EFAs, or essential fatty acids:
Oily fish - eg salmon, pilchard, mackerel
Seeds - eg sunflower, flax, pumpkin
Nuts - eg walnuts, almonds
Nut butters - eg peanut, cashew, almond
Oils - eg extra virgin olive oil, flaxseed oil, rapeseed (canola) oil - there is a massive list of EFAs in oils here. http://efaeducation.nih.gov/sig/esstable1.htm l
Avocado.
Example Sources of Proteins:
Oily fish - eg salmon, pilchard, mackerel
Red meats - eg beef, lamb
White meats - eg chicken, turkey
Legumes, pulses - eg chickpeas, beans of all types, lentils
Seeds - eg sunflower, flax, pumpkin
Nuts - eg walnuts, almonds
Nut butters - eg peanut, cashew, almond
Certain grains - eg quinoa, oats
Soy - eg tofu, soy beans, soy derived products
Dairy - (when gaining, opt for whole fat) eg cheese, milk, ice cream
Example Sources of Healthy Carbohydrate:
Wholegrains - eg oats, whole grain bread, brown rice, quinoa, corn (to name just a few!)
Starchy vegetables - eg sweet potato (or yam), other variations of potato, radishes
Fruits - eg bananas, apples, pears, berries, plums, peaches, pineapple
Dried fruits - (particularly useful for gainers) eg figs, dates, prunes, apricots, raisins and sultanas
Other natural sugar sources - eg honey, blackstrap molasses
And then condiments like vinegars, spices, and herbs. Remember to enjoy junkier foods too, in moderation like everything else - you are still young, a teenager, you are supposed to enjoy your diet rather than be rigid.
Fasting to "detox" is not the way to go. Calorie Count Plus does not support the promotion of cleanses and fasts for dieting purposes.
Calorie Count is all about sustainable weight loss, this can be done by using the Tools on this site to achieve a healthy reduction in calories leading to weightloss which can be maintained long-term without too much effort.
The problem with using fasts and cleanses for weight loss is that you are bound to gain the weight back once you get off the fast. Also during the fast you are not getting sufficient dietary nutrition. The gain back in weight after ending the fast may lead to what is known as "yo-yo dieting" which can add to frustration, self-esteem issues and a life of constantly going up and down with your weight with no real progress. This diet is very clearly an unsustainable fad diet.

As an aside, I suggest going to this website: http://www.something-fishy.org. While you may only be interested in fasting on the outside this may be an indication of something deeper, so reading it may be worth your while.

fasting is a waste of time.. you're just gonna gain all the "weight" you lose back and some extra pounds. trust me, i know from experience.
just eat less and exercise more.. you'll see permanent results that way. maybe not as quick, but permanent.
