im curious how much water is too much when trying to lose weight? i know that you should have a lot but is 96-144 oz too much to have? i drink at least 96 oz of liquid everyday.
Although you can overdose on water, you're not going to do it unintentionally. Don't worry about your water consumption, unless you feel like you are unnaturally thirsty, as this can be a symptom for other things (eg. diabetes)

I generally think that your body will let you know when you are drinking too much. For example, if you are having to go to the bathroom every thirty minutes, you may be drinking too much.
There is no steadfast, set amount for everybody. Everyone needs a different amount.
The question I would ask is if you are drinking because you are thirsty or because you are trying to fill yourself up with liquids? Excessive thirst can be an indication of something more serious, like diabetes.
i do drink liquid to help me feel fuller and not snack as much but im not undereating. and i don't usually feel extremely thirsty when drinking. just normal.
My trainer advised you should drink 3 to 6 litres per day depending on how much you want to lose. Minimum 3 litres a day though and that is just a good deneral rul for everyone. The more water you drink the less you retain, thus more accurate weigh-ins etc. Drink what you can it would take about 20 litres to OD.
I drink 4 liters a day. Sometimes 5 or 6. I find that the more water I drink, the better I feel. I am less hungry, and my body just feels better :) Also, I noticed that when I was drinking 1 or 2 liters a day, I lost less weight than when I drink at least 4. I think it is because drinking more water reduces water retention.
thanks everyone! i was just afraid too much water would keep me from losing weight.
