Water questions

Does drinking unsweented iced tea or mixes in your water count as your daily water intake?

By and large, yes.   Any plain, unsweetened fluid is OK.... fruit teas, herb teas etc.    Be careful with 'mixes', diet drinks and with artificially sweetened fluids, however.   Some people can find that too many 'chemical' drinks (and foods) have unintended consequences....

I always counted the unsweetened tea as water intake.  What is tea but herbs and antioxidents?

Thanks!  I was curious about the caffience content in the tea, interfering with hydration etc.

hmmm caffeine is a diuretic so if you drink a cup of tea with caffeine drink at least one more cup of plain water or non caffeinated tea.  I have to drink at least 200mgs of caffeine a day to help offset my water retention.  But thats just because I have a high sodium intake.  If its just one cup of caffeinated tea, I wouldn't stress it too much, with regards to equaling out your water intake...

my dietician says that you need to drink 2L of just plain water a day. Any additives like crystal light or anything like that makes it more difficult for the body to use the water. This includes teas.

Just drink 2 L of plain water, then drink tea, coffee (no sugar in it, try splenda or any artifical sweetner), crystal light, or diet pop.

I don't use too much sugar or sweetner.  I can drink tea without anything. I love tea!

hmm, good to know, more difficult to the point where it doesn't count towards any of your water consumption goals?
