Water DOES work!
But, I decided, "hey, drinking water won't kill me." So yesturday I tested the theory and drank 100 oz (5 20 oz bottles) of water throughout the day. I couldn't believe how much better I felt! I did not increase or decrease the amount of food I ate, yet I felt more satisfied and more energized. I've heard that being tired is a symptom of dehydration. Today I actually started feeling thirsty and wanting the water.
Anyone else have a similar experience?
Holy crap. I forced myself to drink 32 oz yesterday, and thought I was going to DIE! 100 oz? 160oz?!?! Geeez! That's impressive, haha. I'm with cass877... it sort of makes me feel physically sick. I posted something similar to this earlier today in the WL forum. Anyway, I have to start SLOW increasing the amount of water I drink (starting from... nothing). Over the weekend, after drinking 20 oz each day, I felt good. And I, too, noticed actually wanting to drink more. So yesterday I drank 32 oz. Ug, it was hard, but I did it. But then I "gained" 3 POUNDS and it has been a crazy, emotional day because I can't handle that knowlege. I know it MUST be from the water....right?! Ug. But yeah, water is good. I guess. How long does it take to get used to drinking it/weight from water to go away!?
I LOVE to drink water! I drink 80oz a day, 1/2 my body weight in oz.
If you drink it you support it! Water does the body good, pass it on!
maybe you should check with your doctor about it. I remember reading (New York Times?) about a woman who had always consumed a huge amount of water( some type of imbalacened methobolism?, can't remember) Anyway she got some type of medication that allowed her to live a more normal life. (by then she had a couple of kids so she really was greatfull about becoming more normal since it gave her more freedom)

1) I am not a woman
2) I exercise very intensely and need to drink water to cool down.
3) I am 6'1", so naturally I need more fluid than an average person.
4) I do not have a car and need to walk or take mass transit everywhere, which contributes to thirst.
5) I am rarely thirsty and normally only drink fluid when eating or exercising. I simply drink the fluid to keep my body temperature regulated.
6) All blood and urine tests indicate everything is normal, and my doctor and nutritionist attribute my intake to my activity level.
