im working out  wanna be lean since they said im so thin i wanna toned up my body so i need to eat more protein whih is hard for me coz im vegetarian my source of protein is nuts ,tofu, soy millk

I believe the minimum guidelines for most people are 50 grams per day.  People who want to put on a good amount of muscle eat their body weight in grams of protein or more per day, for example, i weigh around 134-135lbs so if i wanted to "bulk up", which i dont, i would eat 135 grams of protein per day.  I, however, try to aim for at least 70 grams and usually get between 80-90 grams/day.  What helps me is drinking protein shakes (it's not just a guy thing), i have one every morning and it adds 24 grams of protein to my day, and only 110 calories with trace amounts of fat, sugar, and sodium.  I use beverly international brand and its called "muscle provider".  Since you are a vegetarian, protein shakes and bars are your best bet.  That is unless you want to eat 13 servings of peanut butter every day and i dont recommend that.  Also milk, milk has 8 grams per 8 oz.  But i'm not a big fan of plain milk.
