5 Ways to Loose 5lbs Fast!
I had to write a process (aka "how to") paper for my english class. I wrote mine on how to loose 5lbs fast. So, I thought I'd share it with you. Some of these things may seem obvious to dieters, but the paper is intended for a general audience of average people. Hope it helps at least one person!
Thanks.

With one in every three Americans being obese, it’s no surprise that the average American suffers from obesity related health problems. Doctors are now saying that loosing just five to ten percent of your total body fat percentage can greatly reduce your risk for getting diabetes and heart disease. So, why does the average American have such a hard time loosing weight; its because they are not being calorie conscious. Loosing five to ten percent of your body weight is much easier than one may think, there are five things you can do to easily drop five pounds fast.
The easiest way to cut calories through out the day is by cutting out all caloric beverages. This is as simple as switching from regular soda to diet soda, or switching your daily cappuccino to regular coffee. If you drink four, twelve ounce cans of regular soda a day, you’re adding an extra 600 calories to your daily intake. If you switch to diet soda, you’d be cutting 4,200 calories per week. Since there are about 3,500 calories in a pound, you could loose over one pound per week by cutting out soda alone!
The second way to easily cut calories is the what I like to call the “One Tablespoon Rule.” Instead of two tablespoons of peanut butter on your morning toast, drop it down to one. Instead of two or three tablespoons of mayo on your sandwich, try just one and you probably won’t even notice a difference. Each of these will save you almost 100 calories per meal.
Losing weight is not just about eating, it’s also about exercise. I know the thought of running for thirty minutes straight may seem dreadful, so try breaking it up. Jog for ten minutes in the morning before breakfast, go on a brisk walk during your lunch hour, and do a yoga DVD after dinner. To burn extra calories throughout the day, try making simple adjustments to your routine. Park the car a couple of blocks away, take a few extra laps around the mall when you shop, all exercise burns calories.
A more difficult, but important, way to drop extra pounds is by cutting out trans fat. Yes, that means no more stops at McDonald’s, and no more greasy fried foods. Just one table spoon of grease contains over 100 calories. It may be hard at first, but after a few weeks, the cravings will subside and you’ll already be on the right track to healthy weight loss. Trust me, you’re body will thank you for it later.
The most important key to loosing weight is keeping a good attitude. Don’t obsess over calories, just try to make healthier choices. If you do end up overdoing it for one night, there’s always tomorrow; just don’t let yourself fall into a rut. Everyone has days when things don’t go exactly as planned, and that’s okay. Always stay positive and you’ll be physically, and mentally healthy for life.
Looks like a good paper, hope you get an A!
I don't normally like to correct spelling but, since it's for a school paper, it would be a good idea to change all the "loose" to "lose". Otherwise, really well done!
Well thought through paper...I also would recommend a spell check and look at how you use the words such as "tablespoon" and "table spoon". Again its well written and I wish you the best of luck.

especially as its an english class!
You did a great job of making those tips easy to understand and very "user friendly."
The only thing I would add to your list is switching to nonfat products wherever you can: yogurt, milk, pudding, mayo, you get the picture. Smart Balance has some great products (spreads). I especially love their 50/50 butter (butter and their lowfat spread). I love cooking in butter, but this product takes the place of it without compromising the taste of butter and by adding Omega-3's.
I hope you receive a good grade on your paper!

Great paper...very true about the trans fats...McDonalds is terrible...although I do sometimes give into the tempatation...but not lately. Not only will the cravings for greasy foods subside, if you do go back to McDonalds or another fast food place like that, your body may not tolerate the grease the way it did before. I still remember how upset my stomach got after I had McDonalds for the first time in 2 months....not good!
If I were you I would have also mentioned the hidden trans fats in prepackaged foods and how food companies can say a food is trans fat free if it has less than .5 g of trans fat per serving...which could be dangerous if someone eats several different foods that have hidden trans fats in them. They need to read ingredients!!!

Does anyone actually drink that much pop?!? That amount seems totally insane to me.
Might be good to mention drinking some water mixed in with the diet soda, since diet soda IS low cal, but not actually any 'healthier' than regular soda (I know this isn't really a paper on how to eat healthy, but it may be a good note to mention in this paragraph).

I know lots of people who drink 4 or 5 20 oz bottles or regular pop a day...I think for regular pop drinkers it isn't uncommon to down several cans or bottles a day.
great paper! :D
yeah, i used to drink about 4 liters of soda a day. there are alot of people out there who still do. i've switched to diet soda, but i try to drink mostly water now.
man! there are so many ways... LOL it must have been hard to choose only 5!
I also recommend spell check and mentioning water.
I use to drink 7 cans of diet pepsi a day for years! Now I can't stand the stuff and only drink water with Crystal Light in it! ANY kind of pop is not good for you, or your teeth. I know!
But good paper! Tell us how you did!
Soda also leaches calcium out of your bones and teeth. Ewwww!
i give you an A
