well you wouldnt put on weight if that helps?

3500 calories = 1 pound

and you are eating the right amount of calories for a growing girl :)

so really your doing good :)

and in your picture, you dont look like you need to lose weight!

what is your calorie limit, may I ask?

Run around the block and eat lots of veggies for the rest of the night... maybe. Fish is low in calorie and filling too, if you are hungry.

Don't worry, its not the end of the world!

i try to stay around 1600-1800 to maintain but im trying to lose a couple punds before next saturday....i have dance performance and the other girls are all really teeny. im not
You already look quite slender in your picture. I say this because ballet is notorious for requiring excessive, dangerous thinness in its practitioners, leading to a massive prevalence of EDs and other forms of body obsession. Please don't use other ballerinas as a baseline for comparison - that would be very unhealthy.

Don't worry when you eat. You aren't at an unhealthy weight, and you are physically active through dancing. Overeating today should not throw off anything - odds are you won't feel any different physically, so try not to feel any different mentally either. For that matter, a young growing woman who is quite physically active may even have that as her usual burn rate, so it might not even be overeating - or if it is, as simply_less states, it isn't by very much. I recommend NOT weighing yourself for a day or two, because your scale might just be a pound or two higher - from water retention and GI food mass, NOT fat - and it might freak you out unnecessarily because you did NOT, in fact, put on weight today.

the picture was taken 20 pounds ago. i plan on changing it soon because i don't plan on becoming that thin again. i realize i am at a healthy weight i really am just trying to stop the binge cycle that i ahve been on for quite some time. i have been doing pretty well up to today and now i realize that it wasn't that bad. thank you girls!
The best way to stop a binge cycle is to eat at maintenance. Undereating triggers binges like nothing else - which you probably already know.

I'm sure you'll be great at your recital.  Instead of worrying about a few pounds, work on your routine so you can nail everything!! :)

yes, well I understand with ballet, my friend has a BMI of 13, but her teacher says she's perfect to do pointe :]

OMG simply_less.

That is terrifying. See if you can convince her to see a doctor - for any reason - maybe they can help her. And that teacher needs to speak to the same doctor - or preferably a shrink!

i think regardless of ballet, if YOU are comfortable and happy with your weight right now, don't do anything

i had a friend who used to dance for ballet nouveau
she was suuuuper skinny but wanted to lose more weight and became anorexic
then she collapsed during practice one day
and she hasn't been able to go back to ballet yet (it was like, a year ago too)

just remember, being thin enough and healthy is wayyy better than being suuuuuuuper skinny and ruining your health

:D

and if it makes you feel better, i ate a whopping ~3000 calories on thanksgiving, the same the next day, and then on sunday i had a insane sweets binge and had so much candy, poptarts, bread, and rice crispies that i kind of lost track of even an approximation of how many calories i ate

then on monday i went back to eating normally (which for me is 1600-1800 for maintenance too)
and everything's good now. ive added a bit of exercise this week and not changed my calories...it'll smooth out

Start fresh tomorrow. Don't worry about it. You didn't eat THAT much. I can eat 4000 or 5000 calories or more on my free days.

to continue an answer for trustwomen.

she eats alot, and no she doesnt have an ED. her doctor does think she needs to put on weight, but you know, one day her fast matablism will just slow, and the weight will come piling in!

hahaha!!

Well, maybe she's just young or something. Hopefully she will grow out of it because staying at that BMI is dangerous!

(Roxy: sorry for the thread hijack, sweetheart!)

bmi of 13? that's disgusting :x

as for overeating, it's not going to ruin your chances for losing weight if you eat over your maintenance for ONE day. drink alot of water so you don't retain. you'll probably feel puffy for a while, and you MIGHT gain--but don't let it get you down, because it'll fall off again quickly.

We are human.
If it makes you feel better, I ate 3500 calories yesterday.  Holy s---.  Too much! Eesh! No more 4:20.  It makes me EAT!! Chocolate.  So much chocolate! On the other hand, my run this morning was AWESOME.  Must have been all that fatty fuel.
haha yeah.. i've definitely had my 4:20 binge moments, it's awful
I had an alcohol binge night that left me at 3,999 calories that I can remember. Yeah.
I had 3/4 of a medium pizza yesterday.  Hit my maintenance cals - but it was so worth it, this is the first time I had Mellow Mushroom. I spread it over lunch and dinner.  Much better than I used to do - we would order 2 large pizzas and I would eat a large, at least, in the course of the evening.
