1 year wedding anni gifts?

Quote  |  Reply

Hey guys,

My 1 year wedding anniversary is exactly in 1 month.  We are going on a european trip for three weeks so that is our main gift for each other (that will be in august though)  The day of our anniversary we are going to the restaurant we catered from for our wedding reception which is in NYC.

But I feel like i should still get him something. Something meaningful since it is our first... i just dont know what! No frames...no pictures...we have a lot of those already around our house.  I was thinking of doing a Taj Mahal cake but Im sure that will be exp and I dont want to spend more then 50 since we are spending a lot on this trip and the restaurant is really exp too.

ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Well, the traditional gift for a 1st wedding anniversary is paper.  Since my hubby and I took our honeymoon on our 1st wedding anniversary, we counted the plane tickets as the gift.

However, a nice book would also be good if it's something he's interested in and won't just gather dust on a bookshelf.  Maybe a favorite author, and find a decent older edition of it in a used bookstore.  If you want to get creative and truly unique, come up with your own romance novel.

You could simple and romantic, and write a heartfelt, passionate love letter on some really nice stationary.  (If he's into that kind of thing...)

And it may be a little out of your budget, but I thought I mention something I found recently - customized night sky prints.

There are a lot of options, but I hope it's a good starting point.  Good luck!

lap dance.

My aunt and uncle in law gave us customised postage stamps.  They picked my favorite picture from the wedding and turned it into a usable postage stamp with our names and wedding date printed on them.  I thought it was a cute idea and wished I would've thought of it myself.

I gave my husband a high quality electric shaver, 'cause that's what he wanted.  We haven't done anything traditional in relation to our wedding so I figured why start now?  Just get what we want.  He went all out and got me a full cake decorating kit and cupcake pans.

agreed.

Get him drunk and take advantage of him. Wear something really naughty too!

Thought of something else. Since the traditional gift is paper, you could wrap yourself up in some fancy paper with bows and let him unwrap you.

My 1 yr anniversary is in 10 days... since it's paper I'm getting my hubby concert tickets to one of his favorite bands.

I got my husband a subscription to the Wall Street Journal for our paper anniversary.

you guys are to funny! of course wrapping myself up and giving a lapdance is a definite LOL

so what about this... i got this idea from online...take a big box and put 12 things in it...each gift representinga month we have been together...so for me it would be mostly stuff we would use on our trip...like his and her baseball hats...his and her glip flops....his and her tooth brush...basically everything his and hers lol

but keep the ideas coming!
