The Wedding Countdown!

Quote  |  Reply
Hello to all of you soon to be brides and grooms out there!!

I am in the process of planning a wedding and thought that it would be fun to track my progress with others who have a common goal. So whether it is to have your wedding dress be a certain size or to just feel great about your body on that day lets help each other stayed motivated!

I have 5 months until the wedding!

I am currently at 154 pounds! According to the goal calculator it is resonable for me to lose 20 lbs by the wedding. I am shooting for at least 15!

We will be going on a cruise in the Mexican Riviera for our Honeymoon so the bikin I would like to wear is the prime motivator right now!!

I look forward to hearing about your plans, successes and struggles!

I wouldn't mind tracking along with you these next 5 months!

I'm not a bride, but I'm going to be a bridesmaid for the first time early next year, and I need all the help I can get to stay true to my goals.  The bride (my best friend) is totally cheering me on and the reward at the end is to look great in a traditional Indian sari and jewelry that I get to keep.  :)

I'm 5'3, starting off at 210 as of today, and although my goal date isn't until next February, I'm serious about being as proactive about my health and losing weight as I can possibly be until then!

Feel free to message me!

I am currently 168lbs and am getting married May 08.  So that gives me more than enough time to lose the weight and tone up a bit beforehand.  I want to look great on the day!

I started at my highest weight of 200lbs so have lost 32lbs in total so far.  With another 33lbs to go.

It also gives my fiancee time to lose weight as well.  She is currently 188lbs.

Hey all :) I'm getting married Sept 2, 2007, and I'm terrified that I'm going to look like a pastry walking down the aisle! I'm 5'4", 170 pounds. At my heaviest, I was 190! I'm delighted to have lost 20 pounds, but I never quite figured out how many calories I should be consuming a day to get down to 130 by august/sept. Is it 1200 PLUS the 600 calories I burn when I work out for an hour? Meaning, do I eat 1800 calories a day? Or am I correct in assuming 1350 is a reasonable calorie limit, even when I work out? Somebody save me!

Cheers,

Nadia

Depending on what you want to lose I would stick to the 1350 in order to lose the weight but I days you work out let your self have an extra snack before and/or after you work out.

Since I work out in the morning I have a banana before I work out and then eat my breakfast after but I dont count the banana in my daily count.

My body needs it for the gym.

That is what I would do but I am never really sure with this stuff either. i just try to set a calorie limit whether I am working out or not.
I'm getting married on August 4, 2007! I'm excited! I'm losing weight to look good in my dress and on my honeymoon! And to feel better about myself! I started at 204 (the highest I had ever been) Right now I'm at 179. I started on Feb. 5th 2007. This site says I can safely get down to 144 by July 22. I could possibly lose more before the wedding but I would be happy with 144. That how much I weighed the year after high school when I was my thinest and happiest. I could wear almost anything then!

People keep telling me i'm behind schedule...

I have 4 months and 11 days

I DON'T have a dress yet...I don't have bridesmaids dresses yet...I don't know what color I want them...So I don't know what color I want my flowers and I don't have flowers yet...I don't have a DJ...I don't have a photographer...Um...If there is anything else I probably don't have it either.

I DO have a cake...I do have a reception site with catering (have not picked out the food though)...I do have a ceremony site...I do have a chaplin...I do have a guy to play the organ as I walk...And I do have some of the little goodies like matching pillow, flower girl basket, and the guest book with matching pen...I just got the invites and I am about to start working on them.

How far along are you guys?
Although ours is next year we still haven't done anything.  We are however going to the wedding show in town tomorrow :)
We've just started planning ours. Ours isn't schedule but we're aiming for May or June of 2008. K is heading off to a Bridal Show in Rochester next month. We may look at sites the same weekend.
I just got engaged and we are planning on May 10, 2008.

I am currently 5'9" and 170lbs. I have 20-25lbs to lose and would love to get it off before I have to dress shop...

I have a fiance who is a firefighter and he cooks really well because of it. Talk about sabatoge! LOL

I would love to have some support as well as give some.
Question: If it's reasonable to expect you could lose 20 lbs by the wedding, why are you only shooting for 15 lbs? Shoot for 25 or at least the whole 20. Why lower your expectations, you're worth it? Most only come close to their weight loss number so if you set it for 15 and only reach 12, will you be happy? Now if you set it for 25 and only lost 20, how would you feel?
I never thought about it that way. It just seems like a lot to lose in 5 months. But I guess at 1 pund a week that gives me 20 weeks, right?

Thanks your right! I want to be at my goal of 130 by August!! I can do it. this whole retraingin y brain thing is defintily the hardest part for me!!

I am glad I found this site. It is really going to help!! I will let you all know my progress at my first weighin on Monday! If I at least lose my pound I will be well on my way to my goal!!

Thanks again!
I would love to track with you guys as well I am 182 now, 5'6.  I would like to be 145 by the wedding in late Sept.  6 months 35lbs easy right lol.

I posted a photo of the dress I want to look stunning in on my profile, I tried it on at the store.. it looks horrible in size 16 lol I bet it would be beautiful in size 10 :) What do you guys think?
How pretty! You will look like a princess. And I have 25lbs in 5 months so lets stick to this together!
berryblue031 we have the exact same amount to lose! And we are the same height. And we both want to do it by August! I think we can do it.

Are you just starting? I lost alot really quick when I started on Feb. 5th. 19 pounds that month, but only 4 or 5 so far this month. It gets harder the longer you try. Or at least that is my experience.
Hey Sarah I have been at it about a month now, I can't believe you lost 19lbs last month! How did you do it? I have only lost 8lbs, but 8lbs a month will get me to the goal right :) I find I have to change things every 2 weeks or I stop losing weight it's really annoying.

Next week I start running again, in the fall I was training at 10km but winter came it was wet and I was lazy.  Now I will be starting pretty much from square one and training for 5km again lol but I am hoping it helps me tone without building to much muscle because I get really discouraged when the scale doesn't move.

You should post some pictures! I am going to post one of my to be hubby he is pretty hot :P
I only have 8 weeks before my wedding! Yikes!

I've been working out and being very careful with snacks and...I'm heavier then ever.   (I think the increase in activity shot way past the calories I was eating) So some extra encouragement would be great!

One thing I keep saying to myself is ,"I've never seen an ugly bride...because they are ALL beautiful!"   It helps!
When my best man comes down for my birthday we are going to go try on some suits at the local shop! I hope to have lost a bit more before then!!  That will be the 5th May :)
Hey Ladies, can I join?

I'm getting married on August 5th - the day after you, -sarah-. I'm 5'3", and weigh about 129 now, down from more than136 a few of weeks ago. I tried on a couple of dresses today, some for the second time - there was one that I couldn't get zipped up the first time I tried it on, and it fit perfectly this time! That felt pretty good!

But I was just trying on dresses to get an idea of what I'd like, since my mum and her fried who I've known since childhood are going to make the dress - I'm going to help too! Today we picked out the fabric!

Has anyone else noticed how wedding dresses are sized smaller than regular clothes?

What are your major tone-up areas? I really need to tone my upper arms and my back! Anyone have any ideas?
Hey All you brides and bridesmaids...My sister got married last Thanksgiving and she looked beautiful...She lost a few dress sizes...not too many, but she toned down in the right places!

Buff Brides-that is the book and workout video she used.  And it truly did wonders for her.  i'm not try to sell it or anything.   Actually she gave me the book halfway to use, and i just used it a few times a week for about 1 month b/f the wedding and it even helped me tone down so much!!  Of course i ws the fool that stopped using it a week after the wedding and all tha tThanksgiving and Christmas holiday dinners and no exercise really caught up to me.  But I actually went a dress size down during that time.  So do try it...At least just look at it at barnes and nobles if you cant buy it and note down the exercise routine in the 2nd half of the book for a few weeks...then you will see the results...I have also seen this book and the video in numerous libraries.  Try it Ladies...you will thank me!!
YAY! Another .5 lb off this week.  I thought I was looking at a gain but somehow my body managed to pull in with a small loss instead.  Now to be good and get a proper loss next week ;)
