This isn't me in the picture by the way, its much more fitted on me! Just looking for some input on what others think of the dress! I think I love the simple style, and the sleeves make it a bit different then alot of what others are wearing today (not to mention I am having an outdoor Ocotber wedding in Canada, so they will also help keep me warm)!

I'm just hopeing other people aren't going to see it and think its frumpy or to outdated. It is vintage, but I didn't think it needed any updating. I'm usually a tom-boy outdoorsy type so the idea of really fancy dress makes me a little uncomfortable....

hmmm... link isn't working... jusst a sec

can't seem to fix it... just copy and paste it if you want to see!

There was also this one that I loved:

but I got the first one super cheap and the long sleeve aspect makes sense to me considering the fall and the cold - and wearing a jacket type thing wouldnt make sense since its the braided staps that I love so much on the second dress

The first one looks gorgeous. Elegant, simple, classic - wonderful. I especially like the detail on the back of the gown.

The second one is sexy, but I definitely think the first one is the right choice.

Very pretty gown.  I don't think it's outdated at all, as long as it fits properly (I don't care for the way it fits the woman in the photos).  I'm sure you'll look lovely in it.

oh good so I'm not crazy! Haven't you ever loved something that for some reason everyone else sees completely differently then you... and they are all saying "what are you thinking?!"

Thats what I was worried was happening here....!

I like the one you picked much more.  Agreed I don't like it on the model, it would look much better if it were more fitted, so I bet it'll look great on you!

Definitely doesn't look good on the model, but a good seamstress can fit it to you.

It's your wedding, you should wear what you'll feel comfortable in, not what others would choose.  You'll never please everyone, so make sure that you please yourself.

Those are both very unique simple, elegeant dresses. I really liek the first one with the long sleeves especially for a fall/winter wedding. However when you go inside you will probably be dancing the night away at your reception and you don't want to be too hot. If you go with the sleevless one there is always the option if a fur (or faux fur) wrap that way you can be warm outside as well as comfortable when you're dancing.

For an outdoor fall wedding, the first one is a better choice! I'm sure it looks a lot better on you! Congrats on getting married soon =)

Congratulations! I like them both! Go with what feels best for you :)) The most important thing is for you to be comfortable in your skin -- not what other people think. Follow your gut. And if you do that will portray the confidence and everyone will just think you are stunning as a result.

If you are inside I think the sleeveless one would be fine and that's pretty common, regardless of the time of year - to go sleeveless. A friend of mine had a faux fur wrap on her dress for the ceremony part and then she took it off later. It worked really well for her.

I'm getting married in April and also going for non-traditional. I'm having a hard time finding folks who agree with my choices but it doesn't matter - I am doing what I want ;) I am looking for a 'wedding dress' but I want it to have a vintage feel, not be heavy gown material like most wedding dresses, and I want it to be comfortable. We're having an outdoor ceremony in late April (in Texas). My taste is definitely similar to yours.

I like the first one best- the second one's almost tooo sexy for a wedding. The first one is beautiful and sexy without being so revealing. Again, the trick will be to have it fit you just right.

Its your wedding. You wear what you want! Don't care about what others think. Anyways, think about it. Have you ever actually looked at a bride and thought "Oh, what a hideous dress". Usually, people tend to think "Oh, she looks so beautiful!"

And the first one is a very gorgous dress.

Okay, gotta say it...

Disliked both immensely.  First one looks like an undergarment from 150 years ago.  Second one looks like something a cougar would wear to a club and get laughed at.

But it doesn't really matter what I think.  Tongue out  Only matters what you think.

Grats on the wedding!

Probably the second. The first looks a little like a victorian nightie to me. The second one reminds me of Caroline Besset Kennedy's wedding dress, so will look nice if you are similarly built.

I think the second one is pretty. The first looked hideous to me.

You should take photos with u with both of them and then ask us.  I think it all depends on the person and how it fits you.  Because anything looks good on a model and a mannequin...almost anything anyway.

Actually the reception will also be outside... in the fall. Its in a tent with heaters, but I still doubt being to hot will be an isuue!

A simple "I don't like it" would have been great, thanks...

Everyone else got to share their full opinion, so I shared mine.  Sorry if my opinion upset you.  It was truthful and not meant to be mean or anything.

I absolutely adore the SECOND dress! It's so elegent and delicate, and it gives out an essence of youth and purity. I really hope this is your ultimate choice, because I'm very positive that you will look stunning in it!
