Weight Gain

Well, I am cleared to take a crack at the maintenance thing to see how it goes. My doctor approved of my weight of 118-120ish for my height of 5'4 and said that I don't need to be concerned about it anymore.:]

I still don't get a period, but I haven't for nearly two years. My doctor said that it's likely due to a hormonal imbalance at this point, so I'll just have to eat lots of soy foods! I lost it at 155 pounds or so, which was technically still overweight. This was probably due to the fact that I'm very active and I experienced extreme shock from sudden starvation.

YAYYYyy! I'm so thrilled to be at a 'normal' place again!:] Here's hoping that the doc is right and i just need to balance my hormones! I'm eating very freely and keeping my biking to a moderate amount, so there's no problems there. I'm so glad I'm in the home stretch! It's been a year, 2 months and 3 weeks since recovery has started, and I finally feel hope! My life is back, my personality is back, my weight is recovered...all I need is that little visitor!

Yeah, I just wanted to express my joy. xD I'm so glad for this site, it makes counting so much easier for everyone. I also like feeling like I can help others by informing them of what has helped/no helped during recovery for me. That way maybe recovery times won't be so darned long.:]

Thankies.:] You'll get there soon, too. It sounds like you're doing well and you're asking great questions!

Congradulations!!! Keep up the awesome work!

Is soy suppose to help balance hormones or something??

Soy has estrogen in it, which is why most females shouldn't have a ton of it. Most have too much estrogen, but my body doesn't have enough because of this stupid illness.:[

YAY! congrats :)

Missmagill, you are an inspiration to many on CC! I hope that you continue with your positive energy in your own recovery to help others...you sound like an amazing person!!

Congrats on getting to a balanced weight, minus the inbalance of hormones. It could quite possibly be a low % of body fat too though. Did you doctor check that?

Anyway, good luck with life! People like you prove that recovery is a long, but well WORTH IT battle!

Stay strong.....and continue with your healthy lifestyle!

Does increased consumption of soy products really help?

It's supposed to help. It thas helped others, so I thought I'd give it a shot. It can't really hurt after all.:]

Congrats! That must feel so amazing!

I'm also missing my little friend, but maybe I'll give the soy thing a try. I've also heard omega-3 fatty acids are supposed to help, but I dunno about that. Hey, worth a shot!
